Hello all,

Unfortunately I received a checklist today :( It is for my wife's (beneficiary) original birth certificate from India. I originally sent them "Copy of Birth Certificate" (english translation) which she had obtained from record's office in 2011 but NVC wants to see "Copy of original birth certificate" or if I don't have original birth certificate they would like secondary evidence such as school leaving certificate or affidavit, etc.

My problem is that my wife has her original birth certificate (not in english) but that certificate is missing her name as she wasn't a name till few weeks later. Will I be okay sending in her original birth certificate without her name as her "Copy of birth certificate" which I already sent them has her name?? or should I send them secondary evidence along with her original birth certificate that doesn't haver her name?

Will appreciate any inputs here.

I filed I-130 for my spouse in Mar 2017 as an LPR. I turned USC in Nov 2017, and my application was upgraded to spouse of USC from spouse of LPR on Dec 6, 2017. The application is pending at CSC

Based on forums, the I-130 for spouse of USC is getting approved with May 2017 priority dates, but my application is not yet approved. I went to an infopass appt last week, and they told me that my application was "touched" on Dec 13, and they dont know what happened with that touch. They were unable to provide any other info, and asked me to just wait.

Can anyone advise what can I do to expedite this in any way given other applications with the same category are getting approved.

hi, although the processing dates are currently in may for citizens, because your file was only updated in december, its going to take a while to get it reviewed. they are not going to jump back to that date and review your file right away. i would give it another month before calling or making an inquiry. I also updated my file with a PD date of march 21st and only got my approval Dec 12th. So just be patient.

I would sent the secondary evidence along with the original birth certificate. Good secondary evidence could be a baptismal certificate or dedication at a religious institution.

Hi Meno - Did you file as an LPR with your PD date of Mar 21? And then did you convert to USC? If yes, when did your application get updated to USC?

Do you know which notification is received first? the normal mail notification or the USCIS webpage is updated first? I-m considering that, a we live in Chile the mail notification (if my case is approved) is still in transit and the Uscis's webpage is not updated yet....

Ours took 6 weeks until we could get our case# and invoice# from NVC (from the day it was being sent out)

Now, with NVC, things will be slightly better.

I´ll have my interview in 2 weeks, but only we we able to do DS-260 and all payments online.

Good luck for you
