My timeline is similar to yours and I hope to receive NOA2 sometime in October. NVC stage is next and assuming no extra requests it should take another 3 months before it gets passed on to the embassy stage which should take a further 3 months. We hope to have final approval and be able to travel sometime between March and May 2018 but it is different for countries with high fraud rates. For low risk countries the process is taking approx 12-15 months.

It's a slow process and it is very frustrating, I really need to calm down :ranting:

Right there with you. The gov't has already blocked my IP address three times for obsessively checking the case tracker. Which just means I turn on cellular data or use public wifi :)

Has anyone tried to get documents together just to get ahead a little?

Be careful of expiry dates on some forms. The current I-864 AOS form has 31 July expiry date, no changes will be made to the new version but the date will change on it.

Some police background checks are only valid for 6 months so if you get it too soon you would need another before you get through the NVC stage.

You could start getting any proof of relationship together and start to make sure you can cover the sponsor side of the application.

Am I alone in finding the information put out by USCIS to be really confusing? How do we read the visa bulletin? Should I even be reading the visa bulletin or only looking at processing times for the Nebraska office?

Have you logged into the uscis case check? There you can monitor your case.

I have! I have my priority date, 7 March 2017. But the case status remains at "we've received your case". I know it's at Nebraska- what I don't understand is the relationship between the visa bulletin and the processing times for Nebraska. Does the former even affect I-130 applications or is only for adjustment of status following consular processing?

Those dates are for citizens or PRs that are applying for relatives that are "lower priority" than a spouse or child under 21. If you or your USC spouse is applying for a CR-1/IR-1, those dates in the report are irrelevant.

Ok, go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

Service center, then click Nebraska. Did you do this? Sorry just a bit confused in what you said.

If you did this, the date they provide is the cases they are looking at now. So for us March filers we have some time to wait.

Indeed, clear. I have done - right now they're processing August 2016.

I was just unsure how or if the State Department's visa bulletin (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/law-and-policy/bulletin.html) had any bearing on me at all. But Diamond Eyes cleared that up. :)

So it's probably gonig to be a while, right? Everybody says 6-12 months but if they are still only processing August 2016...
