HELP! Biometrics letter in tatters

Hey all!

We sent our ROC packet to VSC 2/13/17 (via FedEx) and it was received in two days. We got NOA dated 2/15/17.

We also got the biometrics appointment letter dated for 3/24/17. However...the biometrics letter was in tatters! (Thanks USPS ) There is no receipt number visible as it's basically two ripped strips of paper. It was mailed to us in a clear plastic USPS pouch that says they messed up our mail, are so sorry for the inconvenience, blah blah blah...  But since we have to bring the letter to the appointment...do you think it will be acceptable? What do you guys recommend?

i'm freaking out that they won't let my husband into his bio appointment.  I mean the date and time of the appointment is visible on the letter at least.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you!

Just explained to  USCIS that you received the package damaged.  The letter is only needed so that you can proved your identity. They would have a copy of the letter in their possession.  They usually stamp the letter at the end, but I am sure they can give you a copy of theirs with a stamp that certifies you went to their Biometircs appointment.  No big deal.

Receipt number is written at two places on that letter. One at top row in the box next to the notice date, one at the bottom of the page over the barcodes. Are both of them gone? Are barcodes still visible?

Regardless, as long as the ASC guys could make it work it should be fine. Bring your extension letter with you too. Maybe they could use that number to retrieve your biometrics letter and print you a clean copy.

thank you both for your response!! It has really helped put me at ease.  Yes, the barcode is still visible, thankfully.

I will make sure to tell my husband to bring his NOA letter and to ask for a copy of the biometrics letter they have on file.

Thank you again!

Biometrics was done without any hassle. The front desk person thought it was funny and called his colleague over to see the torn up letter

Thanks so much for your suggestions - really helped put us at ease!!
