Almost a year

Hey friends,

It being almost a year I applied for I-751 waiver in June. But I didn't receive any information yet. Anybody can tell how long it will take more, my extension will expire in May.

Your settings say you've been approved - I'm guessing that's wishful thinking? :-)

I think there have only been a handful of approvals at CSC and VSC are nowhere near.

I do not know.  It varies a lot.  This website provides a possible timeline according to others results.  Be patient but do no worry since you can always renew your extension letter.

Unlikely. Contact USCIS to make an infopass appointment when your extension letter is within a month of expiring (which should be 1 year after your green card expired) and they can put an I-551 stamp in your passport, which will act as an extension for another year.

Im a Vermont filer. I filed December 2015 and only got approved last week...nearly 16 months. I had to get an 1-551 stamp as my extension letter expired. ROC is by far the lengthiest and most frustrating part of it all LOL

I filed in Vermont. It seems VSC takes more time than CSC, mine took about 11 months. You can check my timeline for an idea. Stay strong

May I ask what determines what service center you end up with when you file for ROC? Is it where you live or is it just random?

 

And are there only two service centers that handle ROC cases?

Yes, it seems that only California and Vermont handle ROC applications. It's divided by state - not entirely east to Vermont and west to Calif, but basically that, as I recall.

Probably most of us remember that at the time we were applying for CR1, there was a giant backlog and a long wait. I suspect we're in the same backlog now.

My case is under Vermont service center. And my extension will over in May. I called my attorney yesterday and she said we have to wait till end of May. So confused always in stress.

I made an Info Pass 2 months before my extension letter expired because I knew Vermont was still MONTHS behind and got an I-551 stamp right there and then. Not sure if your lawyer is correct.
