The other day I got a call from Agent so-and-so who was stopping by to interview me and my now spouse from Cuba. Totally unannounced, the agent just decided to stop by...no warning, no call, just a visit, because as part of Homeland Security concerns, so the story went, it's now policy to interview arrivals from key places (like Cuba) to make sure that the immigrant is not a terrorist, not a spy for the Cuban government, so forth and so on. Still...I thought it was quite aggressive just to show up.

Anyone else visited like that? The agent said that the event that triggered the interview was NOT the K-1, not the I-485, but the mere entry into the States!

Whoa, now that's pretty darn scary! :help:

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

YEAH it was!!! What's even SCARIER is that...it was the middle of the day, middle of the work week, I was not at home...and the agent said that, since I wasn't home, she had gone over to the home where I lived with my former wife and was about to knock on THAT door!! Imagine that...an FBI agent showing up at the door where your ex-spouse lives asking questions about a Cuban immigrant! Luckily the agent finally took the initiative to call me!

Ya think this might have something to do with the relations between the two countries? I mean, we here in the US can't just fly to Cuba, at least that's the last I've heard on the matter. Not that I'm saying the interview by the FBI was warranted...not at all. I'm just saying that might be the reason for the "visit". Wow, hope this doesn't happen again.

Honestly- when Me and Mel first got married and started the Immigration process, we thought they would automatically come to your house and check up on you. See if you were sleeping in the same room,etc- make sure you were really married. We thought it was a standard practice.
