Hey guys, got a question while preparing for the AOS.

I received a white envelope from the  consulate when the K1 visa approved and it says "K1 applicant copies of medical forms retain this sealed envelop for your I-485 application with the USCIS Office. DO NOT OPEN".

The k1 visa is approved within one year so I think only the vaccination report is needed when filing I-485.

But based on the descriptions on the envelop, I should mail this to USCIS together with AOS

I found only one discussion here but it ends without any update back in 2013.

Should I mail this white envelope as part of the AOS package? or keep this ?

Many thanks for your answers.

I know it says not to open but you should never send an "original" unless they specifically ask for it. Basically, you need to open the envelope and take copies of the DS-3025 and put a copy in the AOS package. All of us do that, and most of us never got our papers in a sealed envelope in the first place.

If you send the only copy you have you won't be able to send another in case your package gets lost in the mail or USCIS loses the document.

yes thats the concern. I only received a copy of the vaccination report ds-3025 but not the medical form I-693 which indicated in the I-693 instruction that the applicant should receive one as well.....

I really do not know what to do cuz it seems it only happens to the application approved in Amsterdam Netherlands consulate...

You never get a i-693 outside of the US, so if you did your medical abroad you don't have one.

The DS-3025 is all you need ( if it's marked "completed"), so if you have it just take a copy of it and send with the AOS package.

Your overseas medical report is in the sealed envelope you handed over to the CBP officer at POE, it has been sent to USCIS.

I actually sent a copy of the whole medical report including the DS-3025 just because I had it and felt it couldn't hurt. Not everyone gets their own copy of the whole thing, only the DS-3025.

Ok thats a piece of valuable information. Thank you Scandi!

well so you suggest I do not send the white envelop and hold on to it ? If they need my medical report then they will send me a RFE?

They should have your medical report already as it was a part of the sealed envelope you handed over at POE, however, sometimes USCIS fail to connect the AOS applications with that file and they RFE people for it wrongly. It's up to you how you want to do it, the DS-3025 SHOULD be enough, but since I already had the whole medical report in my hand I decided to send a copy of the whole thing just in case.

Even if you decide to send what is in the white envelope - do not forget to take copies! Never ever send something that you can't send again if asked for it. You don't want to lose the only copy you have, same goes for the DS-3025.

This topic is from a few days ago but I found it somehow and thought I'd jump in real quick.

The white little envelop you got is specifically for your AOS. It contains medical documents and cannot be opened by you (not even to take copies).

It'll be just fine. It contains medical information they need for your adjustment.

They do that in your homecountry too? I have never heard of it before, my copy of the whole medical was not in a sealed envelope and I made copies of it of course, I wouldn't send the only copy I have. Never ever, USCIS are known to lose things :o

Yes ma'am! Inside the big brown sealed package is a little white one that has a seal printed on there; "DO NOT OPEN. USE FOR I-485"

I was a little iffy to send it with my petition honestly but then again, there are documents in there they specifically want to see and I already got a DS-3025 copy and x-ray CD-Rom. Which is standard to get in the packages for Netherlands.

Aha so they handed you the white envelope at POE? That's kinda convenient actually. In Sweden you get nothing unless you specifically ask for it, which I did. Got a copy of the whole medical report from the doctor, took an extra copy of it and sent that with my AOS, seems better than just the DS-3025 even if it shouldn't be needed.

The white envelop is not sealed in the package that supposed to be handed to the POE officer.

It is confusing just like that...

But there has to be an extra medical report inside the sealed envelope you hand over at POE? Or maybe it doesn't work that way in the Netherlands? Oh well, you sent it with your AOS anyway so you probably won't have any issues.

In Sweden the whole medical report is placed in the sealed envelope that you hand over at POE, you never see it at all. They send the whole thing to USCIS. So the copy I sent with my AOS will basically just be a duplicate of what they already have.
