Packet from embassy and interview date

I have a quick question about the K-1 Visa interview. Once the embassy receives the information from the NVC, it is my understanding that they send out a packet (referred to as #3) to the beneficiary. My question is:  is the interview date included in this packet or is the interview date given at another time after the beneficiary gathers documents and has physical?  I'm sure this question has been answered before, but I would appreciate any information. Thanks.

As far as I know, the interview date is set by the applicant online.

The packet 3 that I got only includes the following:

1. How to set the appointment for the interview date (link is noted on the attachment)

2. List of requirements that has to be brought by the applicant during the interview

3. List of hospitals which are accredited to do the medical exam in the beneficiary's country of residence and;

4. Security measures that has to be observed in the embassy on the date of interview. :)

Best of luck on your journey! :)

All parts of the process after the NVC stage are very country specific, so most of us won't be able to tell you how it works in Switzerland.

In Sweden for instance, there's only a checklist with all info needed sent via email, many times they send it to the petitioner's email unless you managed to add the beneficiary's email at the NVC stage (it's usually only there for a couple of days). The email contains everything you need to know, everything from what to bring to the interview, to how to schedule the medical and the interview. We also don't have the packet 4 like many other countries do.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

Could you please let me know how the process goes in Switzerland? Do they send me the packet 3 or I have to contact the embassy myself?

Thanks a lot!

First of all if you have received your BEN #, I would send them an email asking how your case is progressing. We did and then things started happening fast. You will receive packet 3 via email. I, as the US citizen, never received any information. It all went to my fiancé email. The email contains instructions on how to pay the fee for the visa. It also contains info on completing the 160 and submitting that. It contains info for making an appointment for the medical exam. And finally, it contains a check list of documents that you will need to bring to the embassy for the interview. Let me emphasize that if you have ANY questions, email them and they will respond either that day or no later than the next day. They are very good at communicating with you that way. The 3 documents you will send back to them are the proof of visa payment, the cover sheet for the completed 160 and the signed check list. After we sent those in last Friday, we contacted them via email and today we got our interview date. Chris had his medical last Thursday and his interview is April 19!  We are so excited. Things will move very fast for you from here out. Best of luck to you. Keep me informed as to how things go.

Thank you very much, Diane. That's very helpful to know. Wish you best of luck for today's interview. You'll be fine and soon you can start your life together
