Cell Phone Messages for ROC Package

 Share

My wife and I are firm believers in getting things started early and not waiting until the last minute panic.

BUT we have a problem and that is that neither of us are Techies.

Can anyone tell us how to print out our text messages from our cell phones so we can add to our ROC package??

We both have Samsung phones.

Thank you in advance.

Did you try to do screenshots on your phone? Then you download those screenshots to your computer.

What model of samsung do you have? A few years ago I had an old one and I was able to do screenshot.

Also, when you download the screenshots from your phone to your PC, they will be as JPG file so you can put several ones in 1 page. I remember I used microsoft word for that. I put a couple screenshots of texts per page.

Yeah you probably won't need that for the ROC, but depending on what Samsung phones you have you can just take a few screenshots here and there and print. They really don't need 3 years of texting back and forth..

On most Samsung smartphones you just swipe the side of your palm from left to right across the screen. Or you press the on/off key and the big main key at the same time.

Im so confused as to why you are wanting to submit text messages for ROC package? All that is required if proof of co-mingling finances for the duration of your marriage. Things to include may be:

  • Joint lease/mortgage
  • Joint tax returns
  • Joint bank/savings account
  • Joint health insurance
  • Joint car insurance policies
  • Joint Car note
  • Life insurance policies and so forth

Where did you read or find information stating texts were required for ROC?

Fact is you don't need texts or calls history for I-751. Focus on real stuffs like finances, insurances, motrage... we didn't even send pics  on my i751 back then.

Thank you Nancy,

I have all of those financials already. So even though that I may not NEED to, I want to add some additional stuff. I just don’t know how to access the information which is why I am asking for some help.

Do not submit anything that is NOT REQUIRED for the ROC package. Your not only wasting your time, but the time of the IO that has to sift through your case file. Just stick to what the requirements are.

Thank you for your reply.

I have most of those that you have listed and will be submitting them.

I never said the text messages were REQUIRED, I just wish to submit a few and am asking for help in printing them  out.

Tried that and it didn't work.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Don't submit anything other than what's required, If you have proof of ongoing co-mingling finances your well on to your way to getting approved for your 10 year green card :). Note...... texts, photos, receipts etc are used to support WEAK cases. You clearly don't have this, so just send in what is actually required.

Recommend abandoning phone messages in favor of substantive financial/life-blending documents, such as wills, medical & statutory powers of attorney, and similar.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I always advocate being fully prepared...and I applaud you for that...but seriously...you don't need text messages...they are a complete waste of time.

Best wishes for a smooth ROC...!
