Hi Sandsake,

Hope you received your ssn by now .If not try the following

Step 1:Trying call them and if they say they are waiting for verification and it may take another 4-6 weeks then go for step 2

Step 2: check with save case check which helps you follow all the verification issued to UICIS/home land security. You can your case in this link https://save.uscis.gov/CaseCheck/CaseCheck.aspx by entering thierAlien/UICIS number.

Step 3:If the status says that "case returned to the agency" and representative in the call says they are waiting for a reply from the home land security. Then they might have to go to the ssa office.

Step 4: Take a copy of this save case check status and head to ssa office and let them know about the issue. They will mostly resolve the issue.

Step 5: And you can go directly to ssa office and request them to provide the ssn number through paper. They provided the ssn number to me through a printed paper before i received the ssn card.

So just walk into a ssa office request the ssn number and resolve the issue. All the best.

Thanks,

Hi Aswin,

No, I havent received it yet. Yesterday I visited the SSA office and the officer told me to wait for a week and call back again if I dont hear anything from them.

I managed to note down my verification number from one of the sheets which the officer was going through.

I tried entering the number in the save case check and it does say "case returned to the agency" and it says me to contact Maryland state SSA office, but I applied in North Carolina State, I am not sure if this is something I have to worry about.

So should I take a print out of this copy and go to the SSA office again.
