Hi Guys,

When it comes to K1 sponsors (my fiancé can not sponsor me as he is not working in the USA at the moment) can it be a family member who is still studying (Army) but will be graduating and moving straight into a paid job in June with a salary that meets the 125% minimum? I have yet to file my I-129F so am presuming by the time I file (end of April)  and if we get approved/ go for an interview/they ask for my sponsors information he will have been in full time employment in the states for at least a couple of months (he has a job waiting for him so this is garenteed)

Does anybody know exactly what we would need to show to prove my co-sponsers employment?

Would 2/3 pay subs and a letter from his employment be enough?

If anyone can shed light on this I would be really appreciative, this is the only major deal that is standing in our way at the moment

Thank you!

The co-sponsor can be anyone, they don't even have to be family- so that works in your favor!

They will follow the same guidelines and requirements that your fiance will follow (your fiance must still fill out the form as well).  The requirements are listed on the I-134 instructions.

I hope that helps!

Also, be sure that your consulate allows co-sponsors.

Thank you!

My consulate would be London so having a co-sponser shouldn't be an issue....I am just worried if they will accept this particular person as my co-sponser as he will only have just come out of studying and will have been in his full time job (which will meet the required 125% minimum) for only a couple of months by the time I would go for the interview.....My fiance earns but not in the US at the moment

I think it should be fine, just make sure he gets the employment letter as well for more support.
