Hi,

I went for my immigration interview in the month of February 2017, New Delhi, India. The immi officer asked only few questions about my husband. But the officer didn't asked for relationship proof although I have all the docs in handy. Told me to read through the information on the legal rights available to immigrant victims of domestic violence in US. Handed me the white letter stating to submit my medical report & most recent Police Clearance Certificate.

My case status says Administrative Processing on their website. I want to know if it's a green flag or red flag.

Appreciate your help.

You're in AP because they can't make a decision yet. You need to give them what they asked for before they can make a decision.

Dont worry. Submit your docs and you will get visa in max 2 months. GoodLuck

Yes, if they gave you the documents about legal rights of immigrants, you're basically approved. They just can't process the visa until you send them the documents they need.

Is your timeline updated?

Thanks to all.

Scandi, my medical is due next month & have got the latest PCC. I'll be submitting both the docs asked by the officer next month both through VFS. I was just wondering if I will get the visa sooner or later. CR1 Case.

Nauman Sh, 60 days alot. Some says several weeks & on ***removed*** website it says if everything is in order, the docs will be couriered back within 3 working days.

nightingalejules, The immigration legal rights notes were given to most of the immigration application during the interview, no? Just curious.

Wait are you saying you had your interview prior to a medical examination? This doesn't seem right. Everything I've read and heard about the process indicates you MUST complete your medical exam prior to even entering the embassy for your interview. In fact if you look at the list of documents the embassy requires for immigrant visa interviews (see here), you'll see that a medical report is REQUIRED. My question is how did you even make it to the interview?

Nevertheless, the advice everyone else has provided here is sound. AP ends when it ends. You need to provide them with the documents they need and they will review it and get back to you when they choose to. Putting a precise timeline on when AP ends is simply not possible.

I don't know how it works in India but in many countries it's not a problem to have your medical done after the interview. The only thing that happens is that the embassy doesn't issue your visa until they have received it.

It's not stranger than missing something else when going to the interview, they'll just ask for it and you send it to them as soon as you can.

I had a link to the exact instructions given by the embassy in New Dehli. It specifically lists the medical report as being required.

It does for every country. That only means it's a requirement for them to be able to issue the visa, so if you couldn't get your medical in time for the interview they will put your case "on hold" after the interview until they receive the docs they need to issue the visa.

This is a specific document listed on the New Dehli US embassy. It literally says "You must bring the following to your immigrant visa interview:". Item number 6 is "Medical examination report". Please don't contradict specific instructions provided on an official document.

Like I said: That's what it says for EVERY country. You can still have your interview ( as many people are proof of, especially the OP of this very thread) even if you haven't managed to get a medical appointment yet.

It says exactly the same for Sweden and I know several people who couldn't get a medical appointment before the interview. It's not a problem.

Every embassy has a whole checklist of things people need to bring to the interview, and every now and then people fail to bring one or two or more of those things. All that happens is that they give you a 221g where it says what else you need to give them before they can issue the visa. Medical, tax papers, birth certificate or WHATEVER it may be. It's all fine.

Actually I have done my medical prior to the interview but the panel physician want me to go through further Sputum Test. So its due next month. The immi officer was aware of my medical status therefore I didn't had to postpone my interview scheduled by NVC

Actually I had done my medical few weeks prior to my interview however the panel physician advised me for Sputum test which extended my medical report to become complete in further two months. The immi officer was aware of my medical status therefore the officer told me precisely to submit my medical report & the latest Police Clearance Certificate (although the current PCC the embassy have is valid until Dec 2017) at the nearest VFS. Me & my husband are pretty tensed after reading through forums where most of 221 g recipient were denied CR1 visa

Such a relief !! Yes the appointment letter says to bring the medical (if the physician gives you these results)

Was only curious if most applicant with 221 (g) make it through it. Especially with the ongoing travel ban, if it barely makes an inch difficult for other immigrants from rest of the world.
