ARGENTINA B1/B2 administrative processing

Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I applied for a tourist's visa on February 23rd in the Buenos Aires US embassy. The interview was going well till the lady asked us if we had a relative with XXXX for last name. None of us have so we answered no. She said she needed a minute, went somewhere else and five minutes later she came back with a green sheet of paper. She told us our application was ok but they needed to check more things. She did not ask for more papers, she kept our passports and told us to wait (not how long). For the last 20 days I've been reading about cases taking more than 6 months... even years! can you give me some experiences? is there any Argentinian here with the same problem? Any other south american? I'm quite sad right now...

I'm sorry it's taking so long.  The fact that they kept your passports is a very good sign, but I know the uncertainty makes it really hard!

 

I fear you'll just have to wait it out - but hopefully another Argentinian can give you some good answers!

I'm from Argentina living in US. I wonder why they thought you have a relative living in US. Have you called or emailed the embassy to get any update?
