Civil Documents Question?

Hello guys

 

Just a simple question. I am in London, wife is in US.  For the UK interview (I am the applicant) it says to bring all original cilvil documents.  What constitutes a civil document? Would one of you be kind enough to list what these are? (I'm assuming birth certs and marriage licence but what else?).  Also do they require just my civil documents or both of ours? I would have to have her send them over in the mail which she is reluctant to do in case they get lost.

Applicant's birth cert , marriage cert, and any divorce decree(s) if applicable.

Read down this list on the London webpage and make sure you bring the originals that apply to you because you probably sent photocopies to the NVC. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/required-documents/

 

The exception is the I-864 package which will come as is from NVC and be in your file. No need to bring a new one. 

 

Nothing from the US spouse because the affidavit of support is all that's  required from the USC. This part is all about the immigrant.

As mentioned above it's birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificates etc.  Here's the page where you can also put your country in the drop down box, and get full details on what you need.
Apparently (I'm not at this stage yet) the embassy will also give you a list before your interview in most cases.
