This is really interesting to me. My fiance might answer in a similar way - depending on the way the question is asked. I know she loves me, and I know she wants to marry me. BUT, she is really afraid of being in the USA (all the news about immigrants these days, who can blame her), she is afraid of being away from her parents, and her culture, and lets be honest, we have never lived together so she is afraid maybe I am not what I seem. So, I could see her answering honestly the way this guy did. But she wont.

 

Maybe the Tunisian guy is a scammer. But usually scammers know what to say.

Since OP doesn't reply to our questions anymore. Seem like she realized how stupid choice her fiance did at the airport. OP will need to have serious conversation with her fiance if he being serious about getting marry or not. Joking or not, her fiance should know how serious this is and what K1 is for. Sorry but I think OP need to reevaluate their commitment relationship before trying again.

Reckon CBP unlikely to respond to 3rd party. Best bet is still a direct convo b/w OP and fiance, wherever he may be.

I get the third party issue, but since OP was/is the petitioner for said visa wouldn't they have at least some sort of right to ask?

This topic has really taken a turn in different direction. Many of the posts are not about the original topic. I mean the weather is even being blamed.

If I use VJ for life critical posts, questions, etc. I will be on the site looking for answers constantly. Let's hope she can get answers from us.

 

fyi, I highly doubt that an inspector would ask when are you getting married. Something is very strange about this. Most people are coming of a flight that has been many many hours. They have been approved and authorized to come the USA. CBP already knows that. I can't imagine that question being asked followed by a person being rejected. Unless something else took place and we don't have the entire story.

Just my input. I've traveled many many times internationally and have seen how things work at JFK.

Huh? CBP officers regularly ask questions like that to K-1 entrants. Not everybody gets asked it, but plenty of people have. Why wouldn't they ask? it seems like a fair question to me for somebody who is required to marry within 90 days.

 

In fact, 2 people in this thread alone had it asked to them...

They asked me when the wedding was, and reminded me I had 90 days in which to do it. I told them the actual date. No worries.
