Hi!! it's been a while since the last time we posted here. I had filed my naturalization in October 2016 and still waiting for my interview date. Anyone have their n400 pending?

Anyway, I would love to go to Philippines later this year with my family because tickets are so cheap. I am planning to drive in the Philippines when we go. My dad is letting me use his car. we will be staying Manila.

I would like to know if anybody here have their US drivers license used in the Philippines to drive. I read online that you can use your state US DL in the Philippines for 90 days. Or should I apply for an international DL? My dad told me to just go ahead and get an International DL. Also how's the experience of driving in the Philippines? I have never drove there and learned how to drive here in the US. I'm sure it will be totally different but I would love to know your experience driving in Manila :)

My naturalization is also pending. I filed August 2016. I also plan to go home after I'm done with my citizenship.

I only experience driving here in US, never in our country. For sure its gonna be different cause here in US is very regulated compare to Philippines. :)

Hi you two!!

The N-400 process got very backed up over the last year.  It has now just started to move again.

I know of three Filipinas that are/were in the process, they were waiting 8-12 months before they finally got notice for their interview, one is still waiting on that, of the other two, once has completed the oath taking and the other is waiting for the notice letter for date to take the oath.

Driving in the Philippines... YOU are asking what it is like.  Sorry, yes I am laughing... you for sure know what the traffic is like.    I call driving in the Philippines - playing chicken by inches.    We just got back from another 3 month stay.

When my wife did the N-400 process it was under 4 months from filing to oath taking.  Things have really slowed down

Yeah I can imagine! Yes I love driving and I will give it a shot to drive in the Philippines LOL! We are planning to all go in October for a family reunion. We would like to take my husband son with us for his very first time. I know traffic has gotten worst the last time I was there but we would probably rather be in the car instead of walking, we will also take some trip outside Manila if we can. My Philippine passport has expired recently and contemplating if I should renew it or just wait until my citizenship is over and just get the US passport. I know I can never tell when my interview will be but I'm just praying that It will be soon so we can make plans :)

No value renewing your Philippine passport now, it will be invalidated once you take your U.S. citizenship oath.

Traffic seems the same in Manila, wall to wall and crazy.    We just returned, have a home just outside of Manila.   I will suggest you look into getting the Grab app for your phone, it works great and is a ton more convenient than a taxi... not always cheaper than a taxi, but for sure a much better experience for getting around.   https://www.grab.com/ph/   You can always hire a car and driver for trips out of town, we do that also.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

Fast and easy! She brought all the required documents and was not asked for any of it (BRING what you need in case your interviewer asks for it). Spend your time "in limbo" to study the civics questions and you will be fine!

How did her interview go?

Ah.. for sure study the 100 questions/answers.

The interview goes like this:  Write down this sentence, read this sentence... then answer (6 of 10) these questions correctly.   Do those things correctly and - Happy Days are here!!

The sentence that is read and wrote is one of the 100 questions .. just an FYI ;)

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!
