Hello,

I am US citizen, residing in Dallas, TX I petitioned for my mom in March 2016. My mom is an Indian citizen. The I130 was approved and the case was sent to the NVC. I have submitted all the financial and civil documents and have paid all the fees. NVC received all the documents on December 28, 2016. On Jan 28 2017 I received an email saying to submit DS 260, which I had already submitted. I called them and asked they said the system automatically sends a reminder and they asked me to ignore the email.  It said it will take 4-6 weeks and if all the documents are complete they will schedule an interview. I contacted NVC and they told me its just a matter of time before they move on to the next step. It has been been more than 2 months from Dec 28, 2016 and more than a moth since I received the automated e-mail. What should I do? How long does it usually take for them to move on to the next step.

Hi kv66... from my research and understanding, sometimes the wait period from time of submitting all required documents to NVC until getting communications about the interview, could be up to 6 months. It all depends on the US Consulate in your home country and what available interview times they have open.

Hey there.

They take a bit longer than your regular R1 visa. I also a petitioned for my mom on march 2016. i sent in my documents and my scan date was 10/13/16. after 5 months and a half of waiting and constant calling, they completed my case on 3/20 (i confirmed by phone). I am now waiting on my interview date which i will hopefully get by the end of next week. I wish you the best and hang in there. hopefully they will complete your case soon. be patient

On April 19, 2017 I received a checklist requesting my divorce certificate for the second time.

According to the judge and the court system here in Brazil there is no other form of divorce certificate that I have already submitted twice to NVC, and its is identical to the sample found in country-specific documents guidelines on NVC website.

I dont know what to do :(
