Motor vehicle power of attorney?

Im compiling all the evidence for our ROC which is coming up. My wife(the petitioner) does not have a drivers license, therefore she is not on my insurance and not an owner on the title. We only have one car. She never learned to drive because so far in these past 2 years it has not been necessary, and in her home country lots of people don't drive.

Im a little worried because lots of people on here seem to include auto insurance, joint title, registration, ect.

Should I get a Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney for her? I can print one off online and go get it notarized. Would that be overkill? We already have Will, General POA, and Healthcare POA.

We also dont have any Health insurance as it is too expensive and not provided by our employers.

We do have lots of financial commingling though.

Do you have joint utility bills together?  Is your wife a naturalized USC? I come from Argentina and there I did not need to drive and never really bothered. Once I moved here I had to learn how to drive and save money to get a cheap nice car to get me places and go to work of course.

Honestly I never heard of people getting a POA for health insurance or for their car, but maybe another Vjer will be able to inform you if that is a good idea or not. Anything that you can get under both of your names or your name that shows a common address together will do I think.

Did you file taxes together?

We actually live with my parents so there is no utilities in both our names. We did get a notarized letter from them stating that we live there, plus she got a state ID showing the same address. Also, we both work for the same company and have paystubs to show with the same address.

We also, did file our taxes together and i will include that too.

Your case is not unique.  I would just explain that your wife does not have a driver's license and therefore cannot provide that pertinent info you described.

I see. Try to gather anything that comes to your name and your wife showing the same address. Paystubs is a good idea and the taxes is a must. Maybe some pictures would help to your case. I remember I even added some Walgreens pharmacy prescription receipts showing my name and address on file. I went overboard with that maybe but it certainly did not hurt. :D I guess you can also add some affidavit letters from your family and friends.
