Los Angeles, Santa Ana and San Diego N-400 filers 2016/ 2017

Hello Everyone,

 

I had my interview on Jan 28th in Chatsworth. It went very smoothly, the employee was an older lady, very nice and kind. Questions were easy, same with writing and reading. She went over my file but didn't ask for additional evidence (I am 2 months away from my fifth year as a resident anyway). I had my marriage certificate, wife and child birth certificates, health insurance, car insurance and the tax transcripts I filed jointly but none of them were asked - she had all the copies anyway. 

 

I noticed she had a BUNCH of files in her office. They seemed very busy although the branch wasn't very crowded. I arrived 30 min early and my interview started right on time.

 

Once everything was reviewed, she said she would recommend me for approval. I got an update today that I was scheduled for the ceremony, so it took less than 2 weeks. Pretty fast, knowing that they received my file on Feb 6th, 2018. Exactly one year after, I am scheduled for the oath ceremony. Can't wait!

 

Fun fact: Looks like they deal with a bunch of filers of questionable "good morale". Apparently, DUIs...

I got a text this afternoon. My interview is scheduled. I filed my case on March 6, had my biometric done on March 28. I live in the city of LA but my case belongs to LA County office.

Today I got my first " we are still reviewing your case" email, which I haven't gotten during the N400 process, I got a few of those during the I751, just curious as to what prompted them to start sending that out again.

 

also, I had sent them an email via the myuscis website asking about just some information regarding which Field office my case is at and why the MYUSCIS account has to timeframes ( case completion date 7 months, and estimated wait time 6 months)

 

Not Surprisingly, they didn't answer my questions, but in their reply, they stated " your information has been entered into the system that schedules appointments in your field office and you will be notified when a time slot becomes available"

as my case status still says " we received your biometrics" and hasn't updated, I wonder if it will change to " in line for interview" at all or it will just stay that way until I get the interview date/letter.

 

but being Santa Ana, I don't expect this to be a short wait unfortunately.

I filed on May 29, 2018. My estimated wait time is 7 days and estimated case completion is 1 month (March 2019), the status is still: We have reviewed your biometrics. The last email I received from USCIS was in mid December that "We are still reviewing your case, no updates at this time." My field office is Santa Ana too, I think they are very slow!

I just looked at visajourney timeline.  It seems that Santa Ana is the slowest compared with other nearby counties.

I'm on the same boat. I applied back in may (22nd), did my biometrics on june 11th. Today my estimated wait time found at the bottom of the page hit 1 day and it changed to " we are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time." Estimated case completion time is still 1 month ( march 2019) and my field office is also Santa Ana. I read online on other threads that some ppl had a similar situation and exactly after one week from the "we are taking longer..." Message got an update via email/text. It's really frustrating and I don't know why SA FO is the slowest among the other CA FO's!!!

My interview is scheduled for Saturday afternoon on March 16.  I didn’t know that they are open on Saturdays...Should I call the USCIS to make sure that it’s really on Saturday? Is anyone in the same situation?

Had my COMBO interview today. Pretty nice officer and was quite thorough. IO Collected Updated Documents from me to prove ongoing marriage and told me that i would not receive new green card.

My Phone was about to blow up a couple of minutes back with flooding of so many Text Messages and Emails about status updates for both ROC approvals and N400 approvals/In-line for OATH Ceremony. My Interview was 2 days ago (02/12).

 

One last hurdle to cross.

Mine just changed to "We are taking longer than expected....".  It IS frustrating! Have you received any updates? Keep us posted please!
