filled for my husband in October 2016. We got married june 2012 and we have a 2 year old and another due in August. We have mostly lived in Nigeria since we got married but i did a 1.5yr stint in the US during that time and he came to visit 3 times. I submitted pictures, marriage certificate, and our sons birth certificAte as evidence but now thinking its not enough after joining this forum. We dont have any joint assets per say, i am yet to formally change my name so my bank accounts stil have my maiden name. And we live in corporate housing, so proof of joint rental...Should i be prepared to receie an RFE? And what else can i include if they request for more evidence?

Wow after all this time you should have bank accounts, memberships,. He could have gone to IRS office and got a ITIN. Have you filed taxes jointly or even married filing separate?
Because you two have and do live together you should have more then the majority who never lived together but just visited.

But one thing in your favor is your living together and that's what the embassy what's to see is time together living like a real couple. So you should be fine. Hop you included your ultrasounds.

***** Moving from Bringing Family to IR-1 spousal visa forum *****

What evidence can you show of all that time living together?  That will be the big thing, because  living together really helps, especially with a difficult embassy like Lagos.  So for example, you have no joint lease, but are you both mentioned as tenants on any corporate paperwork? Bills in joint names, official letters coming to the same address even if in different names?

Marriage cert is proof of getting married, NOT evidence of a bona fida relationship, neither is your son's birth cert. So basically, the only bona fida evidence you sent were some pictures. While that hopefully won't be grounds for an RFE, it will most certainly not be enough for an approval from a tough Embassy like Lagos. Once you get to NVC make sure to add a bunch of evidence such as;

- Passport stamps/boarding passes for the three times your husband came to visit you in the US.

- Passport stamps/boarding passes for your trips to Nigeria.

- Copy of your joint rental agreement.

- Copies of mail coming to your address for both of you

- Pictures with you and your families meeting/co-mingling

- Any joint bank accounts

- Life insurance with each other as beneficiaries

- Any joint car ownership/car insurance

Good luck.
