hi everyone ,., i am a filipina and just got married with an american last february 2007. We want to apply the K-3 Visa so that we can be together in the US. the problem is i am filling up the form G-325A and it is asking for File number. Where will i find or get it? :help: thanks in advance :)

06.17.2010 - submitted our papers

06.19.2010 - papers arrived at Chicago lockbox

06.24.2010 - Check cashed

06.28.2010 - NOA1 Hardcopy received (9 days from the day they got our papers)

07.05.2010 - Received Biometrics Schedule (July 26)

08.05.2010 - Biometrics done! (had to re-schedule from 7/26 to 8/5)

08.13.2010 - Got my interview letter

08.20.2010 - EAD card on production

09.06.2010 - Got my EAD Card (62 days)

09.07.2010 - Applied for SSN

09.14.2010 - SSN Card received

09.16.2010 - Interview schedule (APPROVED)

09.20.2010 - Welcome Notice Received ("Welcome to the USA")

09.25.2010 - 10 yr Green Card received! (98 days)

If you haven't filed for your K-3 yet, you don't have a file number. That will be assigned upon your fiance receiving the NOA-1 (Notice of Action) after the first submission of documents is accepted. If you don't have one, write "NONE".

Just write NONE there. For K3 visa. you need to file I-130 and G-325A first. After you got an approval. then that's the time you will file for K3 (I-129F). If you have any question. Feel free to post a topic here.

I-130 NOA1 : 2006-07-11

I-130 Approved : 2006-07-26

NVC Received :

Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill : 2006-11-15

Pay I-864 Bill 2006-11-20

Receive I-864 Package : 2006-12-08

Return Completed DS-3032 : 2006-12-14

Receive IV Bill : 2006-12-19

Pay IV Bill : 2006-12-22

Recv'd DS230 packet from NVC : 2007-01-16

Recv'd another letter from NVC that they need additional req'ment and which is DS230 : 2006-01-16 (what?!!!! i just recv'd DS230)

Send DS230 to NVC - 2007-01-25

NVC rec'd thru USPS tracking - 2007-01-29

NVC confimed they recv DS230 (2007-01-30) and I-864 (reviewed and ok'd) - need to wait for 2-4 weeks for case completion.

Rec'd RFE from NVC (need certified copy of Birtch Cert. and Marriage Cert.) - 2007-02-13

Sent Mail Cert Copy of BC & MC thru fedex overnight to NVC - 2007-02-13

NVC rec'd Fedex Mail. 2007-02-14

NVC confirmed they rcvd the mail - 2007-02-15

CASE COMPLETE - 2007-02-28 (YES!!!)

Medical completed - 2007-04 - 2 & 3

Schedule Interview - 2007-04-12

Recvd her visa - 2007-04-27

CFO Seminar - 2007-04-27

Flight to SFO - 2007-05-04 (She's here, picked her up in the airport with roses in my hand)

Sent I-751 form in registered mail - 2009-03-04

I-751 received by California Service Center - 2009-03-06

Check cleared amount of $545 - 2009-03-09

Received NOA1 (Receipt Notice) 2009-03-13

Arggghh. :thumbs: You do not wait for "approval". At most you wait for the NOA1 and send a copy as proof you filed an I-130. Recently some have filed with less proof than a copy of NOA1. They've been successful sending both petitions the same day. The I-129F instructions for K3 spouse say "proof of filing I-130". They do not say send "copy of NOA2" even though this has long been recognized as the conventional wisdom.

"Approval" is NOA2 and could be several months later. Waiting that long would defeat the purpose of petitioning for K3, IMO.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
