Interview Appointment - Cairo US Embassy

This may be a silly question, but I can't seem to find a clear answer.

 

Do we schedule our own IR-1 interview appointment or do we wait for an appointment to be assigned to us by NVC?

 

We just got case complete at NVC on 3/07/2017.

Okay, so I'm going to answer my own question. 

 

I called NVC and they said that I can not schedule my own interview appointment. I apologize for this silly thread in the first place.

Not a silly question.. just a reflection on the confusing process..Glad you got the answer... the Consulates advise the NVC late in the month what appointment slots they have available and NVC starts assigning these appointments from about 26th of the month.. rarely see appointment dates assigned by NVC  after 10th of the month so you probably have a couple of weeks before possibly hearing your date... add your CC to the Case Complete timeline so you can see when others start hearing about thie interview date.. nearly there !
