Hi everyone. So my husband and I got our I-601 waiver approved and now we are waiting for our appointment.

Im scared bc he tried to go to embassy for DPI in US and they said there is 9 month wait. He then called Guatemala and they said there is s very long wait. Can he get s letter of police report without DPI? Is there any way? Please help

Hi Jessica!

Unfortunately you can't get the antecedentes penales ni policiacos without a dpi. He could call to ask if they take a passport or a driver's license but I'm pretty sure I took my DPI to get it.

Also, Unfortunately I think Guatemala is in pause to issue any new DPI if you read the news they haven't been issuing them for about 5 months since there is a problem with the machine in guatemala. The guatemalan embassy though has embajadas móviles throughout that might be easier to get the paperwork started for the dpi. For my husband we went to the nyc embassy and it took about 5 months to get it in the mail

Yea. We called the embassy yesterday they said 9 months wait but his interview is in 3-4 months. I heard you can get it with a receipt saying you paid for the DPI and with a cedula but not sure.

I dont know what to do because we need the letter for the interview.
