Well, this chapter for us is officially over. We received the 10 year PR card in the mail today, about a week after the "approved, card production ordered" notice, and a few days after the "we put it in the mail" notice. Looks just like the old card, but with a different photo and different expiration date (: So, we are done with USCIS for quite some time. By the time my sweetie applies for citizenship, she will have completed her master's degree program and have almost three years of U.S. work experience. A U.S. passport will be a nice addition to her collection of credentials (:

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

NOA1: 01/25/07

Biometrics: 02/23/07

Tick..tock

Contacted congressman, ombudsman late March

Got 1 yr stamp and case moved to CSC: 04/02/08

Approved: 04/08/08. Done with USCIS for a few years. :)

Card received: 04/14/08

July 28, 2005 - Received SSN

March 10, 2007 - Sent out Form I-751 (Removal of Conditions) via USPS

March 15, 2007 - USPS confirmed delivery

March 15, 2007 - Online status says... case received and pending.

March 28, 2007 - Received NOA1 dated March 14, 2007

March 28, 2007 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter dated March 22, 2007

April 7, 2007 - Biometrics Appointment

April 9, 2007 - Online status says "Petition to Remove Conditions of PR Status received"

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

05/17/07 Received NOA1 dated 5/9/07(day 45)

05/18/07 Received ASC Appointment Notice dated 5/14/07 for June 1st (day 46)

06/01/07 Biometric Appointment today @ 2:00 (day 60)

06/03/07 "Touched" (day 62)

10/26/07 "Card Production Ordered" (217 days from the day the application received and 172 days from NOA1)

Church wedding Sept 18

NOA1's for AOS/EAD received Sept 20 MSC #

Biometrics completed Nov 5 2004

EAD Approval Dec 29 2004

AOS appointment letter received Feb 3 2005

AOS interview scheduled for March 9 2005

AOS interview mostly fine, just need I-693 supplement filled out by civil surgeon

Spend another $40 for I-693 form, sent to local USCIS office registered mail, arrived March 11 2005

AOS finally approved March 25th 2005

Green card arrives about 10 days later

!!Green card has incorrect middle name!! Thanks USCIS

Travel back to Denver, turn in card and I-90 to correct their mistake.

Application accepted, asked for I-551 stamp, they told me "We don't do stamps anymore"

NOA1 for I-90 received from NSC April 18 2005, fee waived

NSC appears to have stoped processing I-90's

Marilyn needs to travel back to the RP, call Senators office for help with green card or I-551 stamp

Travel back to Denver July 1, 2005 and received I-551 stamp in the passport.

Congratulations!

I really like how you've documented your steps through the entire process; you've explained things very well for the others coming along behind you.

I'm sure you haven't missed this, but two comments made me curious (done for a long time + citizenship). Just want to make sure everyone knows that the foriegn spouse MAY apply for citizenship at the third anniversary of her PR status.

Some people mistakenly think that the 2 years of PR with conditions doesn't count toward naturalization.

Yeah, I know. My wife does not want to apply until September 2008 however, so we are done until then (:

We sent our stuff to NSC first week of October. We didn't get NOA 1 from them until December - and they claimed they didn't get our stuff until the first week of November. Liars! Anyway, we had biometrics in mid-December, about a week before Christmas. We didn't expect to hear from them again until maybe June, based on their posted processing times. Getting finished in April was a complete surprise.
