Furious, does not begin to tell you how I am thinking nor feeling.   In December, I decided to visit my friends and family for Christmas. I hooked up with an old school friend, a very dear one I have known since I was a mere 14 years old. We went out to party as it was Christmas and catch up, but although we had a great time some low life decided to steal my purse/wallet, all my credit cards, bank cards, UK licence was stolen but also was my GC that I carried around like a chimpanzee, you know the one you carry around as it is against the law not too! I just didn't remove it when I went home. The one they want but they have your bio-metrics over and over again.

 

Any way to cut a long story short and after paying around $500 for one measly letter to get back to my husband, we are off on our travels next week, only no GC RIGHT??  I had to apply for ROC when I got back, ,so could not apply for a replacement card.

• Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, to remove conditions on a Green Card obtained through marriage

• Form I-829, Petition by Entrepreneur to Remove Conditions, to remove conditions on a Green Card obtained through financial investment in a U.S. business.

So I went for a stamp to  the Pittsburgh office today and apparently they can't stamp my passport without me applying or a stolen card, so if I apply I pay for it another enormous amount of money to replace my card that will be out of date and cancelled  any way, as I have my Removal of Conditions in the process. So I can't even ask for a stamp in my passport just to go home!

 

WULCUM TO MERICA. .I am furious and I will not let this one go!!   Not only was I a victim, but American immigration  think it is ok to charge their residents and make them pay the price for being robbed. I just cried and cried when they said no sorry, we can't stamp your passport!   It's a disgrace and I won't rest until it is sorted out!  So to the Trump administration what are you going to do about this one and why have you not replied to my husbands email regarding the cost of the Transportation letter and the fact I can't even get a residents card without a  GC or a stamp in my passport?

I can't say I know exactly how you feel  but I can relate. When I applied for AOS my EAD card was not delivered by post office lady although I was standing right there watching her put letters in mailboxes. Notification changed on tracking to delivered and although I got a letter from the USPS acknowledging error and that for a fact I did not receive EAD card they refused to send a replacement card........stating that I had to re-apply and wait possible another 3 months. I know I must sound crazy waiting outside for the post lady but I had a job waiting. Bottom line is i refused to re-apply, lost the job I had waiting and had to wait on the actual green card months later. 

 

 

And note that when applying for EAD with AOS it's at no cost but reapply would cost me money I didn't have. 

 

Horrible system in place for us immigrants. Welcome to AMERICA

It says specifically on the I-90 instructions that you can't apply for a new card if your conditional card is within 90 days of expiration for any reason. You should go back and try the stamp again.

Doubt I'll get a clarification, but maybe... So this was stolen in the U,K. while you were on a vacation? Least that is what I am getting with the whole needing a letter to return type deal....

Sounds like it was stolen in the UK, and OP obtained a transportation letter to get home. Now in the US and now is looking to make another overseas trip.

 

I believe Trump tweets rather than e mails.
