Evidence after divorce waiver

I've just received my 10-year green card, approved with a divorce waiver.

It's been killing me to keep mountains of evidence of a bona fide marriage to my ex-husband around the house, so considering I'm no eligible for citizenship under the 3-year rule, can I just get rid of it all, finally?

Good question! I would think so, but maybe someone in the Naturalization forum could tell you if they were asked for any of that evidence after having gotten a divorce waiver. Most of us in the ROC forum haven't gotten that far yet, so we'd be of less help than someone who'd actually gotten to the citizenship stage.

You will need some information about your ex-husband when you fill up the Citizenship Application, like his date of birth, full name. The date of your marriage and divorce. Also you will need to submit a copy of the divorce decree together with your citizenship application form.  

 

Other than that, I don't think you need more paper work since you will be filing on a 5 years residency and not the 3 years rule. I  filed based on my 5 year residency and I only submitted the divorce decree copy, I'm currently waiting for my interview date.

I think it's better to keep all of them in case you need something in the future. You can scan and save in your computer if the evidences are too space-consuming. That's what I'm gonna do after I got approved! 

Your approval gives me hope that I know I could get approved too. I filed in January 2016 and my waiting game is still on.
