Good afternoon all,

i am trying to extrapolate the data on this site and clearly I am dumb.

What is everyone's recent experience between receiving their NOA2 and NVC receiving your packet?

And then what's everyone's recent experience in the time it takes the NVC to actually complete their processing?

i am cognizant everyone's case is a little different. I'm just looking for a ballpark guesstimate.

I called today and got the canned reply it can take 6 weeks. I will say they were super friendly and nice so ya I got that going for me.

Thanks and have a great day. I'm off to do my laundry. This adulting isn't like I read in the brochures.

Hey...this website can be a bit overwhelming.  I would recommend checking out the Thailand members portal with specific information regarding those whose fiances are from Thailand:

http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Thailand

Also, if you're not already, I recommend browsing visajourney on your desktop or laptop computer.  Navigating this website via cell phone makes the information jumbled and harder to find in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking more just for generalities. It occupies my time to put the packet together in an effort to kill some time. And whatever isn't needed at the embassy stage will be for the aos. So I worded the question poorly as I should've lumped them in together.

No problem....

If you want some general examples of the time process.  Our NVC case number wasn't assigned until almost 4 weeks since we received our online NOA2 approval.  After 2 weeks, I called the NVC and called once a week after.  While calling, I also got the "it sometimes takes up to 6 weeks to process" line from the NVC.

Once we got our NVC case number, we were able to go to the Canadian/US Embassy website and download the forms they will mail out.  For Canadian K1 Visa filers, this is called Packet 3.  The forms requested in Packet 3 were returned via an email they provide, along with our NVC case number.  We returned the Packet 3 info last night, and received a return Packet 4 email literally 12 hours later.  Packet 4 has information on scheduling my Canadian fiance's interview and medical.  We're still on this step, as we're both looking for the perfect time that accommodates our work schedules.

A quick search of the Thailand/US Embassy website shows what your fiance's Packet 3 and 4 look like:

Hope this helps
