Affidavit of support question

Hello,

I have a question regarding the form I-134, Affidavit of Support and would really appreciate if someone can help me. I am a US permanent resident. My cousin wants to visit the US on a tourist visa. I want to sponsor him. The item 9 in the form I-134 asks me to list the individuals for which I have previously submitted the form. I am asked to list their “names” and “date submitted”. I have previously submitted the form for my parents. However, I am confused about what I should enter in the “date submitted” column. Will it be the date I signed the previous form or the date my parents had their visa interview? Thank you for your help.

you can't sponsor him, your cousin must qualify based on his own merits and show strong ties to his country

 

that he won't stay illegally here, there is nothing you can do

 

you shouldn't have sent this form for your parents, because there is no sponsorship for a tourist visa, your parents had to qualify on their own to come and visit you, and to show strong ties to their country and prove that they wouldn't overstay

Seems to be an uptick in these "sponsorship for tourist visa" posts.

 

OP, you don't sponsor for someone to visit the US. Millions of people visit the US and other places on their own. There is no requirement to sponsor and a lot of times it does more harm than good.

Primarily among India\Pak nationals. Very, very common to seek sponsorship for a B2. 

Many of the suspect sites seem to be based in, or primarily cater to Indians.

Odd that you still asked (allegedly after having prepared aos for parents' B2).

Not odd at all. The "date submitted" field is only required if you have previously submitted  I-34 for someone. When I filled it out for my parents, I didn't have to fill out the field as that was the first time I was submitting the form.

Again, I wasn't required to filled that field the first time, hence the confusion. But if you are so committed to finding fault in others, I can't help. I have better things to do than arguing with a stranger online who refuses to listen.

Nothing to be confused about. You don't sponsor anyone for a B2. Your GC has absolutely nothing to do with your cousin's tourist visa. Your cousin applies, and is approved\denied based on the ds160 and interview. Keep us posted how it goes. Good luck!
