I do not hate Gays.

God hates Gays

Not the 9 O'Clock News anyone?

Outside of the Old Testament I didn't think God "hated" anyone.

God doesn't hate anyone. Every book has been created by man, man is flawed, therefore any book is flawed. Yeah yeah... every religion says THEIR book is different and is the word of god and perfect. Every book had some dude still put pen to papyrus.

You know every time I see one of these threads I feel so torn. I have a few friends who are gay and they're great friends. I have always felt, personally, that I couldn't care less what people do in the privacy of their own homes, as long as they don't come on to me. (believe it or not, it actually happened once at work! *shiver*) (and I say that not out of dislike of gays, but obviously, because I'm straight!) Anyway, that's how I feel about gay people. I would like them to be able to marry, to blah blah blah...equal rights for all.

However, my religious beliefs lead me to also believe that being gay is wrong, so therefore, how I would naturally feel about this subject, is wrong. I do believe strongly in my religious beliefs even though I don't actively attend church.

Thus, my problem whenever one of these threads comes up. I've heard all the debate against the religious side of it...but the fact is, no one is going to change anyone else's opinion...you either believe that way, or you don't. It really stinks to kind of feel caught in the middle though.... as I have no personal issues with homosexuality at all....aside from that ...ermm....somewhat MAJOR one there. *sigh*M.

ETA...by the way, Deaner...I LOVE that little burro...always makes me smile. ;)

"ACT UP" says it all.

There are many, many "alternative lifestyles" other than gay that just don't get in your face, but instead keep a somewhat "low profile". Actually there are many homosexuals in the Republican Party ("Log Cabin Republicans") who really don't like this type of "act up" activity. They simply lead their lives as normal human beings - their "private lives" remain so.

A Libertarian

But why should gays HAVE to keep a low profile? Because they're not "normal"? Because they celebrate their sexuality as a response to all the homophobia they encounter daily? I think being overt about their homosexuality is a totally natural response to a society that tells people they should feel ashamed because they love the wrong gender.

In any case, there are the flamboyant gay parades, but there are also slutty straight girls everywhere on TV (and in the bars, and oh god on the street corners!). They're not keeping their sexuality on the DL, but it's still okay for them to get married and have children.

The original poster is disrespectful and just proves why there happens to be such a microscope on an issue that has always existed just below the radar so to speak. He labels himself an "activist".......................

No, he doesn't.

The original poster posted an article, for discussion. The article is not his writing.

And like esjessi said... this thread is depressing. Although I do hate that style of writing that lectures the reader like that; all that 'why do YOU hate me, YOU think this, YOU think that, YOU are wrong' ####### - just makes me think 'uhhh, no I don't, actually, you have no idea what I think, and you're clearly talking to someone else so I won't bother reading any further!' - any article like that is guaranteed to get my back up.

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
