It is frustrating, I only waited 2 weeks and I was frustrated, but at least you know there are a ton of people in the same boat as you, and hopefully your NOA1 comes complete with all of the information. I received my letter for biometrics yesterday, but still can't track my case online. I would suggest calling (did you get tracking on your package, has it for sure arrived?) to see if they can look to see what is going on. It can take a few weeks to get your NOAs but I know a couple people have considered resending theirs because of how long it has taken

We don't have a tracking number so I don't know if USCIS received my application.

I did call them on Wednesday and the woman on the phone told me that I haven't been in the system yet.

We might resend it next Friday...

I would hold out a little bit longer - like I said, I sent mine the beginning of February, I have received my NOA1s, they took my money, and I have my biometrics letter, and I am still unable to track my case online. I know it's frustrating, but you will hear soon enough. I sent mine with tracking to the office address, so they had to sign for it. If you do end up resending it, make sure to get tracking and don't send it to the lockbox (I know they say to, but I sent mine to the office using USPS and it was no issue) so either use UPS or Fedex, or just use USPS to the wrong address. Also, two day shipping is worth it! It will give you more peace of mind to know it got there, and to have it get there sooner.

Where should I send it to if not to the Lockbox facility?

I need my EAD because I don't want my husband or my parents to always pay for me...it sucks.

I would like to work and I would like to drive but it seems like that I need my EAD...ugh.

I understand completely - it drives me crazy having my husband and parents paying for stuff for me, I feel like I am not contributing at all. And without certain documents, they make it hard to do other things (like get a DL).

On the USCIS webpage for the DIrect FIling Addresses for the I-485 it gives options:

For USPS Deliveries send to - USCIS, PO Box 805887, Chicago IL, 60680-4120

For FedEX, UPS, and DHL send to - USCIS, Attn: FBAS, 131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor, Chicago IL, 60603-5517

Send it to the second address and it will go to the office. If you use USPS it isn't a big deal if it goes to the office. I think the majority of people use USPS and send it to the lockbox, they may be trying to slow down how many they get delivered to their office. I used the second address for both my I-129F and AOS applications, both times shipped using USPS, both times it was delivered and signed for by USCIS without any issue. Get two day shipping and get it insured.

I already have my SSN but my maiden name is on my Social Security card.

Can I let the DMV know that I would like to have my new last name on the DL? Or do I have to change the last name before I go to the DMV?

You will have to change it at the Social Security Administration at least 48 hours prior to applying for your driver's license. They will be unable to issue it in your married name because it has to match with your name in the system they use.

Thank you for the information.

But I only have to change the last name on my Social Security card? My maiden name is still on my passport and I-94.

This also will depend on state. I only needed the marriage certificate to show my name change. The SSC and my passport were both in my maiden name.

We did send it with UPS. Hopefully I will hear back from USCIS soon. I need to know what's going on and if I have to send the documents again.

I do not want to wait too long for my EAD to get in the mail.
