I've never created a meme before, so if I did unknowingly I am quite proud :)

You'll either have to admit to making a meme, or spend 3 days listening to the meaning of meme being redefined until it fit's what you actually posted.

"meme debunker" sounds like a good personal title

Seems most US States have equal pay laws.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

As I mentioned, just having a law stating you must provide equal pay for equal work does not mean it happens. It is very difficult to know what everyone makes in the workplace, so it is quite easy to keep it hidden. Even if there is "equal pay for equal work",  "equal work" is pretty subjective, so it can be easily fudged. Another important concept for me, especiall in higher level fields is "Equal pay for equal experience/work ethic". I definitely think women suffer in that regard. Women can also suffer from slowed advancement for several reasons (for example a male-dominated workplace where a male more easily "bonds" with bosses making advancement easier despite inferior evaluations and deliverables when compared to female counterparts), which also impacts their pay vs. level of experience.

In the corporate world I have heard far too many examples (from my wife and her friends, as well as some of my old college friends who didn't go into healthcare) of the "lads" who go out to drinks with bosses but surf youtube during the workday and get promotions despite women around them putting in literally more hours (in the office before the lad, and out long after he is gone) and doing more work/meeting more deliverables. It's been most prevalent from the oil and gas people. The deliverables are very objective so it is very easy to compare the work you do to your peers (number of wells examined etc...). There are "favorites" in the office, and they are always men.

Sounds rather homophobic.

Are you sure you mean "phobic"? Men tend to prefer other men in the workplace. Until there are more women in higher level positions, women will be at a natural disadvantage because men tend to feel "threatened" by them. Mostly because generally speaking women work harder and get more done and I think most men are afraid that women will eventually replace us in the workplace. We have become rather lazy (speaking very generally of course).

I have heard a lot of women do not like working for women...

Speaking of stereotypes and generalities

i've had women managers but higher-ups - always male. the women i've worked for were far more professional, reliable and actually, ethical than any male i've worked for. i've seen the workplace managerial bromance phenomenon bcking referred to as well.

i've also been a manager in retail, imo men do not like working for women. in my experience, assigning tasks to men is a very delicate matter. best to trick them into thinking they're doing a task of their own volition.

how's that for stereotypes and generalities? stupid personal anecdotes..
