Hi guys! So my fiance got his k1 visa approved last week ^_^ (I will post experience later this week) I don't know if this is the right forum now but I have an urgent question. His Visa was approved in Cuidad Juarez & when he went to pick up his visa from DHL (in CD Juarez) today, they told him he needs to get his passport stamped in Zaragoza. He might come in plane so I am wondering if he still needs it stamped there at the border bridge before he catches his flight or can he just go to the airport & they'll stamp his passport at his 1st stop in the U.S? Will the 1st stop be his POE or will the final destination be his POE?

I read somewhere that if you are crossing over to the U.S by land then you need to get it stamped at the border bridge then cross over ...but if you go by plane then you get it stamped at your 1st stop/POE. Is that true?

Please and Thank You!

Hello!

I hope I can help. POE is the first entry into the US. It can or can not be the final destination. Is he flying from Mexico or the US? If from Mexico, he does NOT need to go to the bridge for anything. But if he is entering the US by means of the bridge, then flying, than yes, his POE is Zaragoza or any other entry bridgeport into the US.

Has he picked up the DHL package yet?  Inside the package should be his Mexican passport that has the (one time usage) K1 visa.  Inside the package should be a sealed brown envelope with directions NOT to open the envelope...well that was the way it was a few years ago when my wife went through the K1 process.  Is he going to fly to the US?  If that is the case the first place he gets off the plane in the US will be his POE.  He will present the Mexican passport which has the K1 visa attached inside.  He will also present the sealed brown envelope.  Most likely he will be directed to secondary where they will review the K1 and they will keep the sealed brown envelope.  At that point he is ready to meet you and get married within 90 days.  Best wishes and let me know if you have any questions.

My question is who told him the passport needs to be stamped in Zaragoza?

God bless
