CSC response

Has anyone seen this response from a Service Center before concerning a 129F?

I just got one when I inquired about my case.

"Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or

notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this correspondence."

It's not an RFE, denial, or approval. I think it means it's being looked at and no decision has been made.

Has anyone gotten one of these and if so how long did you wait for the 2NOA?

I think they're just playing with your case file for the heck of it. Dangling it over the approved bin annnnnd not yet.

Well bad news a friend of mine who is a immigration attorney informed me this is a Administrative review

Bad news is all I can say

My only hope is that no one except one person has gotten a 2NOA from November so I'll wait and see how many people get approved before I change my plans get married and file a K-3.

This process is taking it's toll on me so I'm gonna stop posting and take a break for a few months from this board ...good luck to all of you.

I dont think it is AR. Saying 60 days is a lot better than the six month reply a lot of us got. I emailed the uscis and they told me it was not ar just a background investigation.

Ok, maybe this has been addressed on this site before and if so I'm sorry for asking, but.....what does 'administrative review' mean exactly?

It means one of the names on the petition has either come up on a database somewhere as 'flagged - needs further investigation' or is similar to someone's name that is flagged. Sometimes the choices are random - they probably have to 'further investigate' a proportion of cases that aren't flagged as well. You can get a 'name hit' if you worked in a sensitive job (security wise) as well. They also red flag a lot of beneficiaries from what are known as 'high fraud' countries.

It means the FBI (and similar agencies if applicable) look further into the background history of the applicant (beneficiary) and / or petitioner.

The delays caused by AR can be weeks, sometimes months, before the K1 application can move on again to its next stage.
