My online case status has been "Case was received" for the longest time. I've done my biometrics back in October 2017 and have received no status updates at all so I'm not sure what the progress on my case is at. I filed a "missing notice" inquiry but it hasn't been looked at yet.

If you are in background check, what would your online case status say?

I filed in June 2017,

did fingerprint in June 27,2017

my case didn't change until January 18 2018

just passed my interview 2-27-18, that's 8 months of waiting for the interview!

It will come just be patient!

Easier said  than done. :)

The problem is  that if you make travel plans for a vacation, which for us, immigrants, frequently involves visiting home country, then the transition from a green card holder to a citizen might be messy. There is a short period of time when you do not have any travel document after the oath, and not all of us live close to a passport agency. Even without this issue, most of us would prefer not to delay interview or oath, because the wait time could increase by another couple of months, so the prospect of getting interview or oath letter while you are traveling is not appealing either...

I know exactly what u mean, my hubby and I went on vacation during Christmas for one month! I was afraid thinking I might get the interview during that time. And exactly one week after we came back from our home country my status changed.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's been almost 3 months since my interview. I can't get any infopass appointments. When should I contact USCIS about my application?

We on the same boat. It’s been little over a month since my interview my case is bit more complicated than yours.. anyways, in reality you should contact uscis a month after your interview if you hadn’t heard anything, also immigration officers have 120 days to make a  decision. After the 120 days mark you can sue them. Hopefully you’ll hear something soon

So I had my interview on December 11, 2017. He asked for more paperwork, which I  provided on January 3, 2018 although the last day we had to respond was on January 15, 2018. When does the 120 days start, December 11 or January 15?

I believe it starts on December 11 coz they didn’t make a decision during the interview . Did they hand you the n14 letter or you got in the mail? I didn’t get n14 letter in the interview nor in the mail. The officer asked me to bring those documents to the office verbally nothing on paper..

My n-14 was "hand delivered" apparently almost within 4 days of the interview. So  I got  it around December 15, 2017. I was told I couldn't bring the paperwork by hand that I had to mail it in even though I had everything he needed on my phone and could have easily just printed it out in 10 minutes and given it to him. So I mailed it. If December 11, that means they only have a 23 days left for a decision.

Yup  One more month and you can sue them once they get the notice of the Lawsuit that will give them about 1 month to make a decision if they don’t then you will be naturalized by a federal judge.. Hopefully it doesn’t get to that point  because these kinds of lawsuits cost a lot of money

My priority date is March 22nd and the status of both my case and the cases around mine is still stuck in "Fingerprint Appointment Was Scheduled" (San Francisco office).

Would you recommend to start looking into immigration attorneys since it's the 1 year anniversary at this point? Can you recommend any good attorneys in San Francisco Bay Area?

Thanks in advance.

When you say priority date do you mean the date of the USCIS notice for your application or is it something else
