When you went to Cleveland for your infopass case-follow up, what did the officer tell you?  I'm curious, since my local office is Cleveland as well. I'm a January filer and after FP in February it's complete silence.

I was just told that they are still waiting for the FBI Name check to be cleared and there is no ETA for that.

I went for my interview today. It didn't go as well as I thought. My interview letter made no mention of bringing extra evidence and the IO basically asked me to show him more proof. I didn't have any on hand because the documents they asked for were the ones I got nothing more. It also turned out that he needed the court disposition for my 2009 traffic ticket which I was told during AOS was not an issue since the fine was less than $100. I asked the county court about my court disposition and they have no record of it anymore. I can't get my driving record because I haven't lived in that state for 6 years. What should I do now? I passed the civics and english test with flying colors but somehow the paperwork is turning into a nightmare. He is basically asking me to resubmit everything I submitted already. I remember sending all that with my packet but he says its not there.

hi everyone i guess im in the right place!!I applied back in December of last year. My Biometrics appointment was in February 2017 and never heard anything ever since.. all went to a couple of infopasses called an emailed USCIS about four times and nothing. It's been over 10 months since I did the fingerprints, my field office is in Charlotte North Carolina and they are currently processing cases from March all this year. Is anybody here from North Carolina having the same issue

Permanent Resident card issued in June 2010 .

no traffic tickets or any other issues....

02/19/2016: USCIS received my N400 Application for citizenship.

03/21/2016: Fingerprints Notice

04/19/2016: Fingerprints Taken.

Since Jan 2017 (after OKC started processing cases 90 days past my case)

multiple Infopass visits, multiple 1800 calls (Level 1/2 officers)

07/11/2017: Another Fingerprints notice.

08/17/2017: Fingerprints taken again. status changed online to scheduled for interview

08/27/2017: Interview Notice.

09/01/2017: Interview canceled by phone - online still says scheduled for interview.

For all of you guys, if you didn't read what I wrote on the previous page, I quoted it here for you guys, please read:

"Let me share with you this. I'm the original poster of this thread. Meaning I had been stuck in background/ name check for a long time just like you. I did research and tried a lot of things to push my case forward too. Unfortunately, nothing worked. It's hard to accept this but if you are stuck, that means you are stuck, you can't do anything until the FBI finish their job. I guarantee with you that no matter what you try, it's not gonna work, so don't waste your time.

Here is the truth, there are only 2 scenarios here:

1. If you are stuck, and have not been stuck for a year (count from the date you submitted your application). So you are fine, nothing you can do but wait. Your case is gonna be automatically cleared when it approaches 1 year. This happened to most of cases ( > 90% )

2. If you have been stuck for more than a year. Meaning you are so unlucky and having 2 options:

----- Continue waiting until the case cleared. Nothing guarantees when it occurs, normally 1.5 years to 8 years, or more, this is what a USCIS officer told me when I had my infopass.

----- Take your action: file a lawsuit against USCIS . This works most of the time and really push your case forward by forcing USCIS to pay attention to you. But this does cost money. According to people who recently filed the lawsuit, they spent around 3k upto 7k for a lawyer to do this."

Also, if you are one the people in case #1 above:

DO NOT TRY TOO HARD FORCING USCIS DO SOMETHING FOR YOU.  THEY WILL NOT AND CAN NOT DO ANYTHING BUT GIVE YOU A FLAG IN THEIR BACKEND. THAT MAKES IT WORSE AND DELAY THE REVIEW PROCESS.

@OKC Thunder 1800 calls and multiple infopasses are overkill and will be considered as UNUSUAL ACTIVITIES by USCIS and it needs to be paid attention. This affects your case adversely and might have caused your CANCELLATION. If you can't wait anymore and you think you might be one of the people in case #2, I suggest you to hire a lawyer to get the job done.

Also, I've been periodically keeping track of ~200 cases around mine. Of the 19 cases which were still in 'Fingerprint Scheduled' status, 17 of them moved to 'In-Line' today, right before the 1-yr deadline - in other words about 90% as cybermax stated.

Hopefully this gives a few of you some encouragement for your cases!

A little bit more patience..like cybermax have already stated wait within those periods, if it goes beyond that there's an issue but right now you're still on a safe zone.

I finally got my interview letter today, so that should give you some kind of idea in waiting period. I would say cybermax assessment's waiting period is definitely correct.

My PD: Jan. 25

Nov. 24: I talked level 2 for an update, he stated it's "online" but the status on my page didn't change, so basically on the internal system viewing only of uscis.

Dec. 21:  Online status changed to "Interview Scheduled" & received a text message as well for the case update.

Dec. 26:  Finally received an interview letter schedule in the mail

Local office: Cleveland, OH

This should give you an idea in your waiting period.

Thank you for the assessment, you're very much correct.  I finally received my interview letter today,  11 months of waiting after my priority date.

I search 200 cases on October 12 around my date (finger print in May) and found 13 are in fingerprint status.

1 case is a lucky one, October 17 is already "in scheduling," October 20 updated with " interview is scheduled".

12 case is left in fingerprint status.

I will track those cases.

This morning I got magical email update and my case is FINALLY "in line for interview" on Jan 25, 2018.:D

I revisited those 12 cases of 200 which was stuck in fingerprint stage. 10 case were changed to "in line for interview" today.

There are only 2 cases left in fingerprint stage of 200 cases now.

I guess my background check was done after 8 months.

Thanks for the update! I am stuck for even longer (My priority date is 03/31/2017).

I am just curious how you guys revisit the USCIS case numbers. Do you manually put in case numbers ONE BY ONE, or the case numbers could be processed in batch? TIA

I create an account on uscis for case status. Then "add cases" to my account. All the cases show up in my account.
