I think my daughter case is stucked too, but she is responsible for it, because she failed to do the fingerprints on schedule date, she did it 45 days after the original one. Her field office is Newark, NJ. with them the whole process take less 5 months, according to my own experience.
Yesterday she called USCIS and the IO told that the case looks good and it is on the range the dates of processing.

I was writting this since yesterday, but today I checked USCIS page, and, Voila! the case is in line to interview since today.

I have some questions?

How did you know your daughter case was stuck? And how long had she stuck from fingerprint date to in-line date? When she called USICS, did it help to boost the process? Thank you.

Besides the random extensive search, there may be a few more factors that might warrant more time to do a more thorough check:
Family members/dependents that you are filing together with or might get immigration benefit;
The nature of your profession/jobs held;
Frequently changed jobs/frequent moves;
Unexplained gaps between job changes/moves;
Frequent foreign travel/visitors;
Unusual/large/routine foreign money transfers;
Anything that may raise suspicions related to sex-trade/prostitution/polygamy(and any other crime to that matter);
The list can go on and on. I had to pass a check because of my job literally a few months before I applied. It took about 1.5 months to clear. If the check is taking longer it does not mean that you are "bad". They would rather check the good person longer than letting the bad person skip through. That is their philosophy.
International travel, pending tickets, waiting wife/bride, etc. are all personal matters and we are responsible to plan and prioritize the order and importance of events in our lives. We have had 3 or 5 years before we became eligible to apply for citizenship. There is no "deadline" to apply for citizenship, you apply when the time is right for you.

Relax, this is not a race.

Well, Newark FO take around 4 or 5 months the whole process, and her case had an "issue" because she didn't the fingerprint on the date they assigned (Nov 29/16), she did on Jan 13/17. I filled N-400 to my Mother-in-Law in January 17/17 and she got the In-line notification on March 6. So, I checked a bunch of  number's case base on my daughter number and they were In-Line status, then I sugested her to call USCIS.
I think that call help her.
All this is base on my assumption.:D

@biggy2016

My i-751 just got approved 7 months ago, so background check was made recently if i understand correct.

So why now we have to go the whole long way one more time?

Thank you.

Actually if your background was cleared before, it doesn't mean that they won't check it again.

As far as I know, every time you do something that the progress contains background check as a part of it, they are gonna go back and re-check your background regardless your previous background check result was.

Might as well add myself to the list:

GC: 03/02/12

Paperwork Sent: 12/12/16

FIngerprints; 01/17/17

So HK12 is the first one of our mini "limbo" list, if I read it correctly. So, in theory, he'll be the first to show some movement and we follow afterwards.

Adding my husband - not worried yet, just exasperated :-)

N-400 sent: 12/27/16

Nothing since biometrics...contacted Senator, two Representatives, and Ombudsman.  All state "USCIS reports that you are still in Background Check"

I am waiting close to 2 months now after fingerprinting. My coworker who sits next to me and had his fingerprinting done a week before me is already in line for interview.

Ya'll do realise there's massive backlogs at most field offices for processing right? I filed July 2016 and haven't had my interview yet. I have the notice of the date - but it took me 8 months to get it. Zooropa is the only one out of four of you that has a legitimate cause for concern.

You mean you they put you in-line for interview after 8 months since fingerprinted? Or you have not gotten any things yet?

I never got notice I was put in line for interview. There was complete silence between my fingerprints on 4 August and finding out I had an interview date. I got that letter in the mail about 2 weeks ago. No texts, no messages nothing. There was 8 months of waiting. And my FO isn't one of the slowest right now.

I agree,  if someone filed fingerprints in DEC 2016 or JAN 2017, I would not consider that a delay in Background checks.  And if you review the processing times for the Field Offices, you are very much within their times.  There is a definite delay in N400s,  as the USCIS processing times were posted a month or so ago, and then a few days later they reposted "new" times that actually went backwards in time.  My PD is now 306 days ago.  I am nearing one year since filing, and I am not alone in this snafu, their are large numbers caught up in this "refiling" of background checks due to USCIS computer error last year.  All of this means many more N400s will be delayed due to this backup.

What's your interview date? Could you share that?
