N-400 Filers who got stuck or delayed in Background / Name Check.

Interview: 08/21/28. Got the congratulations letter. IO told me that the oath letter should be in the mail in 2-3 weeks.

Infopass:  09/20/2018. Was told that my background check is not cleared yet. 

 

Why did they interview me if my name check has not passed yet?

People please help me! I dont know what to do I am so frustrated.  My AOS has been stuck on background check since 2015. 

We filed AOS in June 2015 and was scheduled for interview in August 2015, but they canceled it, saying my background check was not out.

 

I have contacted Ombudsman several times, I have contacted  my district congressman twice about my pending i485 case, I even got a lawyer involved but I got same answer  : they are extensively reviewing my case and they can't tell me when it will be completed. 

 

I have had 3 work permits so far and I have applied for the 4th one since April but that one is pending now too.  They said I have 180days auto extension on my EAD since I filed on time.

I can't even  renew my driver's license so I stopped driving  since it expired to stay out of trouble. I am 2 months into the extension and they still have not sent me my EAD but they said my fingerprints review has been completed as of April 16 2018.

 

Anyone with advice please, I have spent money and time with lawyers without any response.

claims that he has successfully sued the government in the federal court and, in most cases, a case under litigation was approved. If you are willing to spend around $3000 to $5000, this might be the only solution possible.

That is crazyyyyyyy.

 

Also (and im sure you've done this), but book an infopass, i've heard people say it may have triggered their case to move ahead. Best time to do so is at night time or super early in the morning (~4:00-5am), other times show no dates available.

Same Case with me. My case is stuck in background checks ( spouse is already done with entire process in 3 months )
