Hello,

I've been waiting to hear back from USCIS for two weeks now. I applied for the above mentioned documents on February 21st. I came to the US on a K1 visa.

When can I expect NOA1 and NOA2 in the mail?

NOA1 hard copy should be in the mail within a few weeks of applying to it.
NOA2 for I-765/I-131 when filed is within 90 days. NOA2 for I-485 is a wild guess, can take up to a year.

It took just shy of 30 days for me to get the NOA1 for my AOS/EAD/AP and then NOA2's followed 100 days later for the EAD/AP.  AOS is still pending.

There is backlog and it's terrible.

As long as you have delivery confirmation, you'll just have to wait it out.  Totally sucks :-/

There's probably and AOS February filers thread you can follow and that will show you how people who filed around the same time as you are progressing.

My husband sent the documents with UPS. We don't have a tracking number so we don't know if USCIS even received my applications...

He doesn't still have the receipt does he?

I'm pretty sure there is always a tracking number with UPS or at least some identifying information on the receipt for them to do a trace.

It's always advisable to get some

form of tracking just because things happen.

Worst case- you have no way to verify.  Give it a month from date if sending and then perhaps re-send?

UPS always tracks packages, no matter what it is. A tracking number should be on the receipt given when paid, as I believe. Wait it out though, do not resend anything else. It took nearly three weeks for us to receive NOA1. Keep your eyes out if they cash the check. If worried, call the customer service line and see if they can find it in their system.

We already had the problem with USPS when my husband sent the documents for my K1 visa last year. He called USCIS and they told him that they never received any documents from him. That's why we re-sent everything with UPS and they received it a week later.

I'm just afraid that USCIS didn't receive anything and that we wait 2 more weeks and nothing happens. I need my work permit so that I can get my driver's license.

I don't think that he still has the receipt from UPS.

Oh wow, if that happened before why didn't he make sure he can track it this time?! But anyways what happened happened. It's extremely irregular right now how long people wait until they hear something from USCIS. Some ppl get text and emails within 7-10 days of sending it off, others wait three weeks. I wouldn't worry too much at this point. I'd be careful  with filing another AOS package because if USCIS ends up having two applications it's double filing and I've read before that they sometimes then reject both (use the search function on VJ and read about that stuff).

I'm just worried because my visa is only valid for 5 more weeks. This is why I'm so nervous...

Your visa expired the minute you set foot on American grounds. You do not want to send in another package, it took a lot of people three weeks to hear something. Wait it out another week and a half, call afterwards if you are already in the system.

I have a K1 visa. This visa is valid for 90 days after coming to the US.

We got married 2 weeks after I arrived and we sent the paperwork to the lockbox facility in Chicago on February 21st. I've been waiting for 2 weeks now but my visa expires on April 15th.

I came here on a K1 visa too. The expiration date on it means you have until that date to enter the US, otherwise it'll be invalid to use. K1 is a one-way entry and is invalid after your entry in the US. It gives you 90 days to marry. The preferable way is to marry and adjust within that time frame. But not a necessity.

Well it's actually the date on the stamp in my passport saying that I have to go back to Germany if I haven't filed AOS until that day.

We got married and I submitted my application for AOS but I'm still waiting for a response from USCIS. I feel a little helpless right now. I don't know if they even got my application.

Check is not cashed yet...

No, that date means you have until then to marry. If you have not been married by that date in your passport, you can not adjust status and you will be required to leave the country and start over with CR-1.
AOS has nothing to do with your K-1 visa when it comes it the use of it. You use the K1 to enter the United States and it'll allow you 90 days to marry (and adjust if preferred). There are a lot of people who wait years to adjust due financial reasons or they just take it easy. AOS is NOT required within 90 days but preferred because you will be in-status.

To show you our timeline; we send it off in October, the 14th. Delivered the 17th. Cash was checked on Oct 30th and NOA1's came in November 5, biometrics letter came in five days afterwards. Give it some time or call the 1-800 line when worried.

Here is some extra explaining;

I'm really wondering why they didn't cashed our check yet???

I did call USCIS and someone will call me back within the next 3 to 5 days.

I hope they will give me an answer.
