I'm sure ROCs are always brought up in VSC meetings. They created this mess over the last 1.5 years for whatever reason, now then need to fix it. They need an executive decision to totally eliminate VSC from ROC processing. That'd be best decision ever. Seriously. Let CSC be the single service center for ROCs. Over the past years they moved few more states to file at CSC to help ease VSC workload but as long as NYC/BOS/DC/PHI file at VSC, their workload won't change much. For whatever reason, CSC was always good with ROCs. VSC, there were times they were good (like in 2012-2013 believe it or not they were actually faster than CSC for certain months), then there are times like now, where people suffer.

Can u tell what's happening at csc now? I am a june filer and is been 10months here already. waiting with no good news of 1 person  approved.

Well said, I honestly can't see the logic of pushing everything to CSC, considering that his Office has been stuck on  May/16 for over 4 1/2 months, with little to NO processing done, and an unbelievable 4:1 ratio (4 months to process one), while VSC already picked up and is processing Feb/March.

I honestly don't know. Maybe CSC director is doing VSC director a favor and he ordered halting the ROC operations until VSC catches up.

Looks like some of the CSC filers should also be getting close to N400 eligibility. At least VSC filers won't be alone in the joint N400/I751 conversation anymore.

We are a February 2016 ROC filer and just got approved 2/28/17.  I just checked the Vermont processing time for ROC and it now shows 2/15/16.  Hang in there.

So here is something you all will find very interesting...

My wife who is the green card holder, changed her address a couple weeks ago (we are may 2016 filers for ROC and were at VSC). We received a letter in the mail which states...

" after careful review of your request, it has been determined that your issues will be best addressed by the USCIS office having jurisdiction over your case. Therefore, we have taken the liberty of forwarding your service request to the CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER..."

We never received a transfer notice or anything of the sort!

I, too, was in that group with Sukie. I'm wary of transfers. But if evidence supports that CSC will actually approve us quicker than I'd be for it.

Yea, I am with you Lucybelle. Just no information yet regarding the transfer for our file, so we are just sitting and waiting to file for naturalization...

Here's my theory, if anybody cares:

I think they're not calling it a "workload transfer" to try to avoid a deluge of service requests from VSC filers checking to see if they're among those transferred. But our anecdotal evidence (including that letter saying that, without having had notification of a transfer, their application was magically at CSC instead of VSC) suggests that some files have been transferred, VSC filers have been getting approvals fairly quickly, and CSC filers, once MONTHS ahead of VSC, has slowed down...

So the most likely scenario is that VSC has sent a bunch of its backlog to CSC, and some of the personnel processing I-751s at CSC are now processing ones that originated at VSC. This will eventually get VSC caught up to the same dates CSC is listed at, and then everyone will move forward together.

Is your timeline updated?

Kinda good news and bad there, I suppose. Good that you've skipped the line but bad for the interview. Not that bad though, I'm sure.

I think I'd rather have waited and not had an interview. I am just baffled as to why my case has been pulled months early. They shouldn't even be looking at it right now. I sent them over 1lb of documents.

Some are just random. This document is quite detailed:

By the way I'm not insinuating anything by posting this. The document does help understand the process a little better. I'm guessing your interview selection was random.

I read the document, thanks for sharing. It still baffles me why an October filing date was even being looked at. No one else has reported it. I'm wondering if VSC cases have been sent to CSC, if CSC are doubling down and clearing out their backlog - and the front loaded applications are being passed off to the field offices.

You're welcome! Keep us informed of your progress. It would be great if they were passing front loaded applications to field offices for adjudication because I sent them 9lbs of evidence lol. This is certainly the first instance I've heard about anyone filing later than June 2016 getting any sort of update.

Good luck!

I'll post in here of any updates as I get them, for sure. I was reading yesterday about sometimes when VSC/CSC get bogged down with applications and are running behind, if they have a ton of stuff to look through and just don't have the time, they can pass it off to a field office. I guess it makes sense if they're trying to reorganise workload, given the changes in the last few months and added pressure to provide more efficient service and less processing time. If VSC are being sent to CSC on the down low, it follows that CSC are doing stuff with their back log too. Maybe I'm just being hopeful and will walk in to a Stokes Interview 😭😭😭😭
