DCF Frankfurt - Medical Exam

Hi there...

 

Quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to (sorry if this topic has been covered)...

 

May we schedule the medical exam now that "Packet 3" has been received and we are within 6 months of leaving or do I file the DS-260/I-864's with the consulate first and they will notify us when we may schedule a medical exam? Do the results get sent directly to the Frankfurt Field Office or do we receive something after the Dr's appt that we are supposed to send in with our DS-260/I-864's? Thanks in advance!

Hi! No, you don't schedule the medicals that early. The visa will be valid as long as medicals. So if you do medicals that early, your visa will get shortened due to validity of medicals.  When you send DS, you will have to wait one month before sending all your original documents for the interview, when they receive your documents and review them, then you can schedule your interview. Make sure you have around 3-4 weeks from the day you schedule it on, because they need a couple of weeks to get your medicals send to the consulate. The doctors office in Frankfurt where they do medicals accept walk ins. You don't even have to schedule it. Just be there right before opening. We were like 15 mins prior and we were first.
