Foreign passport name change after applying for citizenship?

My wife currently has a permanent resident card. Everything including the permanent resident card has her married name but the foreign passport still has had her maiden name. We just applied for citizenship last month which included putting in the passport number (I think?). Are there any issues with changing the passport to the married name? Will the naturalization process or background checks get confused with this change?

Why are we changing the passport to the married name? We already bought international tickets in her married name a few months ago assuming she would have US passport (in married name) by summer but it does not look like that will happen.

Thanks for any help.

PS: Sorry for the double post. In the previous thread I goofed up on the spelling in the title and it didn't allow me to edit.
