Hey everyone, my name is Samantha! I'm going to start my story from the beginning as to get the best advice, please bear with me! My mother and brother moved from England to America back in 2005, they came over on a visa. I followed shortly after (not on a visa) and filed the appropriate paperwork to be here. Homeland security requested more paperwork and fees from my parents, they were sent in, and we never heard anything back. Fast forward to 2014, I hired an immigration lawyer to get my situation straightened out as I would like to drive, work and help provide for my 3 beautiful daughters. She had me apply for DACA as I had gone back to school to attain my GED. I never hear from her unless I contact her and every time I ask a question about how long something is going to take, I get excuses and she suddenly has to overnight all the paperwork that I sent to her weeks prior. It's been 2 and a half years and after pressing her, she finally contacted USCIS and we received notice that they plan to deny my request due to something I did as a juvenile. They gave me 33 days to respond and she told me to email her an affidavit expressing my regret, which I did. That was almost 4 weeks ago, so today I emailed her asking how long it would be til we heard something back, and she informs me that it hasn't been mailed off. She said I now need to come in and sign the affidavit (I offered to hand write and sign one in the first place) and then she'll overnight it and hope it gets there in time. My lawyer says that my DACA case will probably get denied and that I should have my husband apply for AOS for me. My question is, should we do this ourselves or stick with her? If we do it ourselves, how hard is it? Many thanks in advance!!
