Income requirement

Hi everyone, currently going through the K-1 visa process.  

My income is over the minimum required to be approved for the K-1 visa ($24,872 a year)... however I feel like it's still low. 

 

Do you think there could possibly be a chance  of being asked to have a co sponsor?

Probably not since it's more than the minimum they ask for. I'd have a backup sponsor though, just in case.

The requirement is to be so much above your states poverty line. Doesn't hurt to have a backup though.

Jasa good luck with your process. I'm also from Brazil and started my process back in January.

Your amount is fine (2 person household) for the K1 stage ($16,240usd) and for AOS ($20,300usd). Those are the new 2017 values. As long as you meet it, they can't deny you.

That's a bit discouraging as that is what their data states. 100% for K1 approval and 125% for AOS. Then you have a place like the Philippines that doesn't even ask for Affidavit of Support, and seems to have the highest rate of applications and approvals. 

I hate when government policies are clear across the board.
