Traveling while removing conditions

Hi all! Hubby and I booked a trip to visit his family in England at the end of May. We booked this trip before the whole Trump thing, so I'm getting nervous now. Hubby's GC is officially expired and we have the extension letter, so we're okay on that part. Just curious to see if anyone has recently traveled in our same situation and had a hard time coming back through customs? I'm anxious! We'll be flying straight from Manchester to LA... Thanks!

We are in the same situation as you.  I have read a few posts recently that they have not had any problems with  coming back.  I really think we will be ok but there is always that little doubt in the back of my mind that won't let me relax.

No issues at US Customs.

MAN airport staff with mainline US\UK airlines should be generally familiar with the GC+Extn letter protocol to allow boarding.

No issues at all with US immigration. I traveled many times with the NOA form, which provided one-year extension.

The only hiccup that may happen is the ground stuff at the foreign country's check-in desk, particularly if your airline isn't an American-based airline. When that happens, you can present your green card and NOA form and be very confident that the process is correct. Most of them will call their managers for help because they haven't dealt with such issue before. When nobody knows what to do, they either make the decision to let you board the flight or call USCIS/CBP to confirm. But this really only happened to me once - hahaha! It helps if you arrive at the check-in desk early. But either way, MAN - LAX should be a breeze.

My wife flew back from Russia via China with the GC and Extension Letter and had no issues returning.  The only issue she had was she could not use the electronic kiosk at Detroit POE.  This didn't result in much of a delay though, she was through in about 20 minutes.
