The written exam covers the basics of driving. It is designed so that you know what a red octagon on the streets mean, a STOP sign. And, you may re-take the exam as many times as you like. As a matter of fact, I failed on my first try. That's because some of the questions was vague, and ambiguous. They were hard to completely understand even for someone who has an Engineering degree.

However, it's very easy. You just need to know what lane you drive on, how to signal, what does red mean on the traffic lights, you know the stuff you see everyday that you take for granted.
