Yes, it was very good just now to see the VJ K1 stats for CSC jump from 1/31 to 2/4 rather suddenly, and my timeline jumped back 3 or 4 days close earlier.  I think the average NOA2 processing time was around 87 days when I submitted our application and it's been steadily climbing to over 100 over the past two months.  I'm happy to see it drop a little!  VJ stats currently show an average of 100 days from NOA1 to NOA2.

I read a comment about some people recently receiving NOA2's in the mail, but are not being notified by email/and, and are not being reflected on the my USCIS website.  Does anyone know any more about that?  Is it just a website problem, or a bigger internal USCIS computer problem that may have also been slowing down processing?

This long distance and long wait have been far more difficult than I'd imagined, but it's starting to feel a little easier knowing that some progress may be on the horizon.

It seems to be an issue with their tracking/update tool on the website. From what I've read, the back-end approval system is updating when the petition is approved, but the tracking/update tool that we use to check our status is not updating accordingly. It's highly likely USCIS is issuing approvals and to them it appears everything is fine, but some kind of system issue is preventing the status from changing to approved from received. I read that some people who received NOA2 notifications in the mail contacted USCIS and after escalating were told that their application did indeed show as approved in the back-end approval system. People are still getting NOA2's in the mail and pretty consistently now so I don't think it is slowing down processing much if at all.

I just hope they get the system updated soon so we know that we can rely on that instead of worrying about waiting for a letter in the mail!

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Hello everyone!

I mailed by I129F forms on May 12th and received my NOA1 today, May 15th. I was not expecting it this soon!! That was crazy fast and really helps with positive thinking.

I'm a little confused on what happens next but I think now it's the long wait for the approval or NOA2?

It's so nice to find this thread and see how it are progressing in this process. I've read December filers were approved in March, so the current time estimate is roughly 3 months?

I've read to check your timeline. Can anyone tell me what exactly that is and how I check it? I have already made my USCIS account.

We had that with NOA1 already. My fiance had no alert by text or mail. We just found out when the hardcopy was in the mail.
I hope it will be better with NOA2, cause NOA1 by mail came really late, when I already was worried, they might have lost the letter.

YAY we're kind of half way through waiting! :D:D:D
Can't wait for May to be over!

Welcome to the waiting club!  Be sure to check out and subscribe to the thread for May filers!

Yes, now you wait for NOA2;  The current average time between NOA1 and NOA2 is around 100 days.  You can keep an eye on the statistics under "processing times" on the menu at the top.

The timeline is a feature on this website (VJ) which allows everyone to track their status, and the website uses those statistics to help keep everyone better informed about USCIS processing times and status.  It's by no means official or anything you should start planning a wedding around!  When you enter your info into your VJ timeline, it will use the statistics of other VJ users to give you an educated guess of what happens next, and when.

Hello Kepetraska.  Congratulations on receiving the NOA1.  Getting all that paperwork together is no easy task!

Now to answer your questions:

Question 1) Yes, you are correct.  The long wait for the NOA2 is where you are, currently taking about 3-4 months.  If approved, the petitioner will receive a printed copy of the approval by mail.  If the USCIS has questions, they will ask the petitioner to provide additional documentation; that's called an RFE.

Question 2) The "timeline" is a feature of this website community and has nothing to do with USCIS. You have to create the timeline yourself.  If you look around this website, there are several links to create your personal timeline.

Again, congratulations!

Tickets are purchased for my flights to go see my fiance in Colorado from June 15th-25th. :) Both my bosses at both jobs are going to give me a letter stating I have to be back at work on such and such day. My sister also gives me a letter authorizing use of her car to go across the border for the duration of my trip since it will be parked at Devils Lake, ND airport for just over a week. Its her second car and I have been paying her monthly for the insurance so I can use it for work. Plus I will have my return ticket confirmation as well. I think I should have no problem crossing the border plus here at my small border crossing, 5 mins south by car, I know lots of the American border agents now so that will actually help plus they look at my address and since I live so close to the border they are used to us crossing a lot. The Canadian Border agents know me too. 2 of them live in the village I am living in. lol Often I cross back into Canada and either one will be like so visiting friends again and winks. How long did you stay this time? Did ya bring anything back? Nah ok your good go on. hahahaha Last time when I brought my fiance into Canada the one said hey she brought something with her and the other guy came over and said what she did and the first guy said yeah her boyfriend. HA jokers.

I am so looking forward to seeing him. I miss him so very much. I know this will rejuvenate me for the rest of the process.

Hope you all are doing well.

It is amazing how 4 days can can make a huge difference... my estimate was moved forward by 4 days!!! I don't know why, but this just makes me feel so much better!!!  hehe

I've got another random question here... I have applied for a job that will take me away for a few months... mid June till sometime in August... I am fairly certain my NOA2 would come during this time, my questions is:
is there any thing or reason that would make me need to be at home and not away during this time? So, is there something vital that I might need to provide and wouldn't be able to if I was away? If there was something that would keep me, then I would not take this job.
Any help would be great! =)
Thanks!! :D
