Well!!!!!

Certainly THIS is not who we are or what we are about, that is poor conduct by these so called Public Servants.  Sorry no one there said it but instead was showing their A sses, but I will......

                         WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES!!!!

I love to read a POE, it's the finish line we are all chasing.  You did it so well and efficiently - Nice Job!!  I was wondering a few days ago how you were coming along - hadn't heard or I was missing your posts.   Congratulations!!

Thank you @AnJ Co , it was a challenging time all these months. I haven't been visiting the forum as I left from here on the 9th for the interview and came back just last night as an official fiancee:energy:. I was surprised to see that on the passport k1 visa page appears my finance's name hahaha he's miiiine. Can't wait to hear the good news from your side soon too. How is your lady doing? Last post I read about you guys was the email from Manilla embassy listing the documents needed. best of luck and thank you for being an active and  real support for our group!!

I Pray its ok and you will be on to the next step very soon

Thank you so much for this.

Apparently our case is the only one from Marchies here who stuck at NVC for such a long period.

Praying each day to get to the embassy!

Oh gosh hun I keep hoping that you will post about it leaving NVC. I have everything crossed I can for you. NO MARCHIES MUST BE LEFT BEHIND and that includes those without NOA2s. Come on USCIS get your butts moving and those at NVC too.

well done , one more step ahead!!! can you please let us know after how many days after POE you went for the SSN and what documents did you need? does this vary according to the state or is standard for all the US?

thank you!:)

We went in 8 days after POE, but from reading other threads, some people have gone in the next day without issue.

We brought in a copy of her electronic I-94, the SSN application, her passport and her Canadian Driver's License. We also brought her birth certificate but he did not need that. Since the Social Security Administration is a Federal program this is standardized across the country and should not vary by state.

Oh My Gosh!!! I love it!     I didn't know they had the Petitioners name on it.   I'll have to tell Ann about this :D    When we get the marriage license, I'm gonna turn to her with my receipt and shake it in her face that she's mine hahahaha so it will be a good way for reciprocity.

Thanks for your kind words, THis past summer is something we all here will not soon forget.  THis group literally kept me sane.  I owe this list MORE than I have ever contributed.  We are dangerously close to POE, as we interview in 2 weeks and if we get a speedy VOH then I'm going to bring her back with me in 3 weeks.  If not, she'll follow in 4 weeks - yeah, kinda sobering when I type it in here.......  WOW

Enjoy your remaining VJ, at least from here on out, it is together....... so much better

Ha my Mum just came into the library and said to me hmmm we should put you and Chris in the newspaper. I said for what and she said your engagement I really should have done this months ago but it can be used as evidence of a relationship. I laughed and said that and finally everyone in our small village will know I am engaged. Some are still only finding out which is hilarious. Yes my Mum runs the weekly newspaper in my village. It has been in our family for 115 years. :) And yes it will stay in the family as my brother-in-law and sister are going to take it over when my Mum retires.

That is so cool!  I love history, and I can only imagine going into the storeroom and looking up back issues....... There is so much history since 1902!  Electricity, telephones, wars, etc....

Here is what I did and it was fine.
I had read somewhere that a letter from your bank was needed to go with the I-134 so I also included that.

I know there has been talk about what people have taken for interviews and what should be taken and this is what my F took:
From me:
Stuff that I mailed (because of wet signatures) also I used DHL so it would get there in lightning speed time -2 days to be exact- and to make sure that it did get there since these are very important documents. Also, I included 2 of everything just in case and kept one of everything for myself just in case and they ALL had wet signatures:

  • certified divorce decree (a copy was not good enough- I had to go to the courthouse and get this)
  • letter from HR
  • letter from bank
  • I-134
  • updated letter of intent to marry (I added much more to mine to mine explaining our wedding plans and details)

Stuff that i put in a file and emailed to him to make the mailed envelope lighter and cheaper:

  • bank statements
  • w-2's from last 3 years
  • pay stubs for the last 4 months
  • wedding dress receipt
  • room confirmation (for wedding and honeymoon)
  • plane ticket confirmations for all who are attending our wedding in FL
  • work leave request and approval for wedding/honeymoon dates
  • I-797
  • Letter from NVC

From him:

  • he took a LOT of skype screen shots for proof of ongoing relationship (way more than I had submitted which was only 20)
  • more photos - like 5 more different ones (and we do not have pics of us with the others family because we have never met the others family in person since we went to Mexico to meet in person)
  • 7 passport photos (for medical and interview... maybe it was 5- i can't remember now =/)
  • Vaccination records
  • police certificate
  • sealed envelope from the medical place
  • original and certified? copy of his birth certificate
  • proof of his payment
  • the DS-160 number (I didn't do that so, I am not sure what that was called)

The embassy already had the packet that I had sent to Texas on March 31st so there was no need to take anything that was already included in that.
I can't remember anything else, but I am sure there was more. We made sure to have more than enough so there would be no problems and there wasn't! It did not matter that we had only met one time in Mexico. I did not send tax transcripts either.
At the medical they asked him for his A number which he couldn't find and when I told him where it was and he gave it to them, they said that wasn't the right number and ended up writing down the case number that was assigned from the NVC so that was kind of weird. And then at the interview they did ask him a LOT of things... like a LOT! I was surprised at how much they asked him.
A bit of advice for anyone who is doubting anything that needs to be taken... if you are unsure of something... just take it. You could never have too much and it is better to be safe than sorry.
Anyhow, this is what we did and got approved.
Hope this was helpful for any who are not sure about things.

Wow, thanks so much for this!!  Super helpful

Yay the package Chris sent me with the documents I need for the interview came. lol Gotta love living in a small village because Mum sent me a message saying I signed your name at the post office for the package from Chris. HAHAHA Now I am ready for my interview October 11th. My Mum and I are getting super excited for our trip to Montreal. We have been looking at everything we can to do with Montreal and hope we have decent weather so we can do lots of walking in old Montreal and around downtown Montreal. Mum teared up yesterday when she said how much she was going to miss me after I move. I teared up too then. I will miss her so much. Mum and I have always been close and living together the past 2.5 years have only brought us closer. She is looking forward though to coming and visiting me and Chris next year. :) I definitely will miss my family. We are all very close. I am looking forward to my new adventure with Chris though. We have plans to go see my best friend in Texas soon though. I have not visited her since 2007 and its been too long. She just got diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and so I want to make sure to go see her and her hubby Adam sooner rather then later. They were planning an immigration move to Canada next year but that may be on hold for another year. Her husband Adam is Canadian but just got his US citizenship last year. They completed a K-3 spouse visa in 2006 and used VJ. She is the one that told me I must come on VJ and that it would literally save my sanity. LMAO She was so right.

Ha so I opened the package Chris sent and in the middle of the documents he had put a card. lol Last time he sent me a card all I got was an empty envelope. :( Because some dumb employee of either us post or canada post decided to see if the card had money and then just sent the empty envelope. He was soooo mad. lol
