Wow, I haven't been on here for a while I wanna say a big CONGRATS to everyone who's already entered the states or to those that have an interview coming up! As for us, well we've been stuck in some sort of "Administrative Processing" at the NVC and have to wait and wait and wait *sigh*. Wishing everyone else the best of luck and speed through this all.

I do understand you! We also stuck at NVC as of August 25th with same reason.

Horrible situation after 5 months of awaiting for petition approval.

Hang in there!

Thanks!  I think it took around an hour and a half total between my fiance going in a bit early + waiting.  He was able to message me during the times he was waiting.  He was called up twice, once for documents and once for the interview and he said the interview literally only took about 3 minutes.  Our case wasn't entirely straightforward so we were pretty worried despite preparing the best we could but apparently it was all non-issue!  So if you have zero complications in your case, I'd say there's definitely nothing to be nervous about :D

Ah that's nice to know, my interview is about 2 weeks away and I'm so nervous but so excited. :D

It's kind of bittersweet to see this thread much less active than it was over the summer. I suppose it means everyone is moving on to the next steps and living their lives, but at the same it provided a nice distraction from work when I needed it!

They are not telling us any reasons.

Just are constantly saying everything looks ok and its a regular AP. Don't know what to think.

It seems to be just as quick and easy at the London embassy as everyone on here says. I have no doubt you'll be approved too.  Good luck!!

Hi guys!

just a quick update about our journey.

POE - JFK-20.09-yesterday evening

First immigration officer took my passport and the sealed envelope, asked about our wedding plans and was respectful. after he told me he will walk me to the back office for some paperwork and about half way another officer took my papers and passport. this one as soon as he saw my country of citizenship exclaimed ''oh so many k1 visas today from Romania , what are you girls doing over there ?? you getting husbands on sale?'' i was not expecting this and replied smiling '' oh no , we have nothing to do with trade and commerce'' and he continued saying ''you girls must be getting them on sale'' seriously? after 2 years and a half of relationship , flying average 2 times per month to US to see my fiance ( thanks to my previous job ) , someone out of nowhere asking me this....

next he took me to the back office and after waiting no more then 5 min I heard my name called and I ve been handed over my passport with the stamp . I said '' good evening and thank you '' and when I wanted to ask something another ''lady'' over there sharply and angrily cut my words by saying ''you can ask your lawyer!!!''

i said ''ok thank you very much '' and walked out... i don't have a POE picture coz I was not in the best mood, I never been treated with so much disrespect in my entire life and I lived abroad for the past 5 years. Some people are very frustrated, uneducated and jealous for reasons I cannot imagine and won't even bother.

all the best my friends!!;)

Made it to the Social Security Administration Office yesterday and applied for SSN. No issues there and we were in and out in 20 minutes!

well done , one more step ahead!!! can you please let us know after how many days after POE you went for the SSN and what documents did you need? does this vary according to the state or is standard for all the US?

thank you!:)

OMG that is horrid. I would have got their name and reported them to a head person. That is extremely prejudice and uncalled for. RUDE RUDE RUDE. *hugs you tight* No one deserves to be treated that way at all.

true, but since I am not an US citizen I was not aware that I could have done that- get their names and report , and I was afraid to reply back to both of them because I thought they may refuse my entry or something. otherwise , I wouldn't have accepted this type of treatment , I am not ( and none of us here ) , we are not illegal immigrants and we did not take anyones place here in the US...

 thanks for the support

I am not a US citizen either but anyone can make a report. Officers are supposed to be impartial yes they make judgments on whether to let you in or not but they are not to let their own prejudices get in the way of things. *shakes head* When I drove through the border crossing near my house a few months ago the officer made a comment about why would I go to the USA. LOL He told me he would do anything to live in Canada. hahaha I said oh love seems to win out. He laughed and said so I need to find me a Canadian girlfriend. Now he was nice. I have yet to have a rude one but I am sure that is coming.

Well!!!!!

Certainly THIS is not who we are or what we are about, that is poor conduct by these so called Public Servants.  Sorry no one there said it but instead was showing their A sses, but I will......

                         WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES!!!!

I love to read a POE, it's the finish line we are all chasing.  You did it so well and efficiently - Nice Job!!  I was wondering a few days ago how you were coming along - hadn't heard or I was missing your posts.   Congratulations!!
