So an update on us. If you remember our case went to "READY" at the consulate on Tuesday of last week, and

at the end of the week we contacted the lawyer -- who we hadn't heard from for a couple weeks, to ask if the DS-160

had been filed, and it hadn't, and that they would prepare the DS-160 this week, and we were pretty mad about it.

Today, we still hadn't heard a word. So I contacted them in the afternoon, and they told me they would get back to me next week to

tell me when they might be getting to it. Next week the case will have been in "READY" status, untouched, for two entire

weeks.

So I sent an email terminating our contract. I got an email after six this evening from the attorney, not the paralegal,

asking if they filed the DS-160 tomorrow if they could continue working, and at this point I only have a day to lose,

so that's all I gave them. If the note were on paper the edges would have been charred.

So where are we at, as of tonight, is the same place we were on 9/6: case READY in Montreal, and absolutely zip has been

done. Hopefully I have something better to report tomorrow night.

Remember kids: don't do drugs, and don't use lawyers.

Gee that lit a fire under their butts. They don't want to lose money. I hope it works out for you but I am not holding my breathe. :) I am here for you if you guys end up doing it on your own. Its really easy to do and I will help you if you need it. :)

I just paid the 20 dollar extra fee to have the Visa delivered to my hometown instead of Brandon, MB because why drive 1.5 hours to pick it up. LOL Would cost me the 20 bucks in gas these days so might as well pay the extra to be delivered to where I live.

Wanted to mention a convenient thing I just found, in case you're looking for some supporting evidence for the I-134 affidavit: the IRS can supply you with instant wage transcripts!

You used to have to send away for those, but now you can just get them online if you open an account on the IRS website.  Super useful!   Maybe everyone knows about this already. :D

Omg.. i had to basically do the same thing...except i just threatened to fire the paralegal....it was filed by end of day...bit i was furious..especially after being bumped to voice mail 4x the last day...plus emails...but it all worked out!

Good luck twoDs

How long does it take for the visa to be delivered? My fiancé passed her interview on Monday but still hasn't received it. Should we expect it by early next week? She is in Guangzhou China

I couldn't find any China specific stats, but it's usually about a week and rarely two unless they're waiting from some kind of make-up document that wasn't available at the interview.

Next week would be pretty likely, three days post interview is probably a little optimistic.

I would have came on here sooner to let everyone know how his medical went, but I've been busy filling out wedding invitations. His medical was at the Anzac Square Medical Center, and the appointment was for 10:45am. He got there at 10:28am. He wrote me at 10:32am letting me know he was checking in. At 10:39am, he started doing the urine sample. He had to sit for a little while and wrote me a message at 10:57am to tell me that he was waiting for the doctor, and was called in at 11am. At 11:33am he wrote me back saying he was done with the doctor. He had to get a flu shot, the doctor asked him some questions, and the doctor told him so far everything looks good, he looks healthy. They didn't check him for cuts (he had a cut from a long time ago). He showed the doctor his signed off paper from Peter Watt (the psychiatrist he was seeing earlier this year), and the doctor seemed satisfied with everything from what my fiancee said, and then sent him to pathology. At 11:55 he wrote me another message saying that pathology took him straight in. He got blood and another urine sample done. They then told him he had to get a chest x-ray next, so they sent him to another building (Citi Scan) for that. He messaged me at 12:28 letting me know he was at Citi Scan getting the chest x-ray. He wrote me another message at 12:54 letting me know his medical was finished and completed.

So, he did his medical from 10:28am - 12:54pm, and they told him they were mailing his large express post envelope back to him for him to take the results of his medical to his interview.

All in all, the medical didn't last very long. It's complete. :) He said the staff was nice and from what he can see, everything went smooth.

Now, we have his interview on the 26th at 8:45 am, so he's taking Train Link again and leaving the 24th, just in case of delays using public transportation. He'll get in Sydney on the 24th around 8pm, spend the 25th preparing everything one last time, then his interview's on the 26th, and he's leaving Sydney on the 27th. It was hard to find a cheap hotel for the 3 nights he's gonna stay in Sydney, but after browsing for a few hours I found a reasonable one with wifi so me and him can talk as much as possible.

So, that's our update. Hope everyone else is getting through this process smoothly. Just the interview now, which by the way, I'm going crazyyyyy waiting for it. I swear, it's like since we scheduled the interview it's going slow. Probably because I really cannot wait for him to go to it.

On the bright side, at least the medical is COMPLETE!!!! :)

Oh, and he's up to date on all his vaccinations for America, so no worries with that during AOS. He's gonna leave within the 1st or 2nd week once he receives his visa in the post.

I bet they do.  Anything that you leave with them, ask for it to be returned with the passport and visa - but from what I have read, they just peruse what you have and hand it back to you.

I kinda thought @Estibaliz would know the specific embassy answer to this.......  Wonder where she is at?  LOL

Happy you have interview on Monday, my oh my, you have been busy after that laaaaaaate NOA2,  nice job in making up for lost time :D   Best of Luck to you, be sure to drop us a post with results right after you tell the Feb list....

She's having a crazy busy week working at her sister's, but she had already replied back to that post on the February's thread... But since she's going behind Ana, she can't presume to have all the answers and know more than she does. Still thinks they will return the originals when checking documents before the actual interview, since they probably just wanted to make sure the copies were accurate.

LOL. Do I sound schizophrenic or what? ;)

Glad to see you back, BTW :)

I received the letter from the NVC yesterday saying our case is being forwarded to the consulate in Mexico (Ciudad Juárez).  What exactly are we waiting for now?  Packet 3, packet 4, etc. Something via e-mail? Something via paper mail?  And who receives it.  I've understood aim other posters that waiting until you receive something at this point could be a never-ending waiting game and we have to take the steps ourself without waiting for something at this point.  Enlighten me, please!  Thank you in advance.  Happy Friday all!

My fiance just finished her medical today and thank God everything is normal! She told me that I need a CENOMAR for the visa interview as well (someone she was talking to said that to her). From what I know and read, the US Citizen petitioner doesn't need to provide that. I looked around online and saw some said yes and some said no. Which is it? I'm a naturalized citizen if that makes any difference.

Also, her interview in on the 27th! a couple more steps and she will be granted a visa, in God's grace!

I did not receive a RFE but from what I have seen so far from member here, I would advise you to hold off on planning anything because it may take a weeks or months before the RFE is resolved.
