Hello to all my marchers.. so stressed out :/ I received the RFE I have been waiting on for 2 and a half weeks today and in it.. it states that the beneficiary (my fiancé) needs to submit something that clearly shows she intends to marry me within 90 days of arrival here in the US. We both signed and included the letter of intent to marry in our initial package back in march.. it seems as though they are asking for it as if it's missing.

has anyone gone through a similar situation, and if so, how did you solve it and what was the outcome? Any information at all would be appreciated greatly. We are so nervous

Sadly this happens often enough.

They are really flying through the petition as they have a lot of work to do.

If they don't see something after looking a few times it's just easier for them to issue RFE.

That is why Tabs are suggested.

The good news is that once you get these sent back to them your petition should be approved within 2-3 weeks which is the current wait time for uncomplicated RFE's.

Update your timeline to help you and other's track your progress.

Make a copy of EVERYTHING you send back to them.

Send with some type of delivery tracking so you can verify they got it.

USPS 1st class mail and priority both come with free tracking if you keep the receipt.

To clarify you said "we both signed and included the Letter (singular) of intent to marry"

How many letters total did you guys send?

It need to be 2 separate letters and you each sign and date your own.

NOT 1 letter with 2 signatures.

Finally if you have visited again since the petition was filed send them that information as well as it will help support your case.

Good luck

Hello!!!

I posted this in the Feb topic, but you March guys are way more active, so maybe someone can help me here :D

We are trying to use this waiting time wisely and gather all the documents for the AOS. My interview is on Monday (ahhh), and we have a silly doubt, do they give you back your originals after the interview at the Embassy?

I saw this in the instructions, we sent a copy along with the originals... but just to have some feedback!

"Original documents will be returned to you if you have provided a copy after the visa interview with the consular officer."

Thanks a lot!!!

Hey everyone, it seems like in order to get a packet 3 that you need to pay for the ds160 and schedule an interview. Is this true? I feel like I am asking the same question over and over lol this is what my status is on line. I want my fiance to pay the fee and submit the ds160. He wants to wait. Please help me!! I don't want to wait if I don't have to. People he know have waited weeks for an email even though the status says READY you can set your interview time.

Urs is very easy. Just send them what they ask for and i am very sure they will reply back quick. I send only the form and filling fee. I was expecting rejection but God help me and they send me RFE. I didnt reed the instruction and i was not a member of visa journey. Anyway i packed everything that i was missing and got approved. So dont worry urs is very easy compared to me. Good luck!!

Still waiting.....185 days.  :(

Ummm that is over 6 months now.

I see in your prior post you contacted your senator? What was the result?

Per your timeline NO RFE?

This is totally unacceptable.

She is not even from a high fraud country.

Do you have a criminal record? Was your case transferred to another service center?

There must be a reason for the delay other than misplaced file.

I would be on phone with Tier 2 EVERY Day no joke and twice per week to senators office from here on out if you are getting zero responses.

OMG this frustrating me reading this and it's not even my case LOL

Very good advice from @LabOz   Be SURE it is 2 separate letters of intent.

Also regarding 'Wet" signatures...... I believe the copy of the letter of intent can be a pdf sent by email and printed off.  Be sure to check with @Unshakable Faith She is an expert in wet and dry signature issues.  If it does not have to be wet, this will save you some time to get this RFE returned and back on track.

Sorry for late replies to list here......

Spasibo or Dyakyu :) You are very welcomed!

Wow, you are from Kiev?! That's nice. 👍 I've had a thought that you could be Ukrainian or Russian :)

I'm originally from Lviv.

Hehe, yeah, the handle gives it away a little bit. :)

I guess we've both already been through this immigration thing, though of course my parents had done all the hard stuff before.
