A quick update...
Ok, so my F had his medical and it was kinda different imo. They had him go back at a later time after doing his x-ray and checking some things and then they told him that he had swollen tonsils and will be sick in a couple of days and gave him a prescription and charged him extra money for "treating" him for his throat, but here is the thing.. he said he felt fine and doesn't feel sick at all so I am thinking that they just wanted to charge him extra money to make more money from him. He went back later in the day (3rd time) and picked up his sealed envelope to take to the embassy which is in about 14 hrs (no, I am not counting down or anything lol) Oh, and they charged him extra to get his results that day or they said his other option was to wait for the results that could take up to 2 weeks... another way for them to make more money  lol

****** A side note for anyone going through Bucharest - They don't tell you ahead of time in the instructions, but the medical place requires quite a few passport style photos to be taken with you. My F was scrambling to get this done since he had scheduled his appt only 1 day in advance  lol

Hi Holly! Did you husband have his medical scheduled at Biomedica Clinic? They told me the same thing, that my tonsils were swollen and charged me extra. Lol. What a rip off.

you know the confirmation page for the ds 160, is it ok to print in black and white?

Check your embassy website. Mine says it should be of good quality and the bar code should be seen clearly, nothing about colours.

@twoDs Thanx for posting the stats, looks like we thought, we still have a mix match of stragglers (all thanx to that lovely bunch at csc) hopefully these still waiting get word real soon!

Congrats at READY, puts the atty in a spot - doesn't it?  Yes, You should have everything wrapped up and moving van driving away well before holidays....... Maybe including Halloween?  lol

Full Throttle!!!!!!  Stay in touch buddy :D

One would hope, but they've been silent for two weeks (since before NVC case number more than a week ago.) Must be nice to pull in money like that.

One more time, kids: do. not. use. a. lawyer.

I seriously doubt POE will happen before halloween, but I sure hope everything is settled by then!

I sure hope it is. :( You should just fire your lawyer and continue it on your own. Seems like it would be better. I already scheduled my Medical and Interview mine was ready tuesday I emailed packet 3 Wednesday and they got back to me thursday with Packet 4 and the go ahead to schedule my interview and medical. All Wednesdays were still open in October for Montreal when I was booking my interview. :)

Oh, we certainly want to, but at this point we have no idea how badly it would screw up our case. It's the fear of that which stops us.

Just to give an idea... Last contact (until this afternoon) was on 8/25, when we provided the full set of information needed for the DS-160.

They asked for it specifically because they wanted to work ahead, time was of the essence, etc.

9/1, a week later, we get the NVC notice.

9/6, case status change to ready.

Not having heard anything since 8/25, I sent a note this morning asking if, you know, we should be doing anything.

This afternoon we get the reply that we can't schedule before the DS-160, and that hasn't been done, and they

will try to have it done next week.

This is the exact same thing that happened with the I-129F filing. It took them six weeks.

Oh wow that is so wrong. :( I completed my DS-160 in a few minutes and then sent packet 3 and got back packet 4 the next day. I doubt it would screw things up if you just told them you were done with them because honestly you two would be interviewing with me if you didn't have to wait. ARGH I feel for you so much. I just wanna keep some legal beep. LOL

No worries. People do this all the time by updating their Form W-4 for withholding. I've seen people with zero kids claim 9 exemptions doesn't mean they really have 9 kids and doesn't mean you are married if withholding for married rate. It's a great idea and your Dad was right. What matters would be a Joint filed Tax return for 2016 and your divorce decree date (assuming divorced) were to say 2010 or something.

Marrying for financial gain on the taxes? Never happen. We will spend way much more on immigration fees alone not to mention the wedding itself. No gain there.

Stock market would be better investment haha

Nah, I was never divorced. I just flipped from single to married for 2017 for my job payments to get tax credits ahead of time instead of getting a big tax return come 2018.

So I got my approval in the mail today 09/08. The notice date is a saturday 9/02 even though my case tracker was updated on tuesday with the date of 09/05. I will be updating my noa2 date to 09/02 on my timeline. I guess this adds to the theory that they work overtime(saturday) to process backlogged cases.

We know for a fact the not only work overtime, it's something they desire. The USCIS adjudicator said in his posting that they try to plan on 35 hours of OT per month, which pretty much guarantees they work saturdays.

You can start calling NVC 2 weeks after the NOA2 date, and you can fill out DS-160.

As for booking the appointments, you should check your embassy website. Different countries have different rules.
